Please comment and vote. How do you like the story so far. Do you think Dave is a jerk i know Jesse is a bit of a pervert.

A familiar truck could be seen parked in front of the motel as the cowboys drove by.

"Dave, are we going to let that girl work with us? I mean, we could let her come out, give her an unbroken horse, and let her make a fool out of herself. That way, Ruth won't hold it against us. Or, even just to get what we can out of her, just have her feed and water the horses. I bet she can't do more than that," James predicted.

Dave just kept driving.

"Winter will be here before you know it and we have a shit load of work to do before it does. An extra hand would help. Besides, all she was asking for was a place to stay. I think...."

Dave interrupted him.

"Are you really asking me, or trying to convince me?" he said sternly, while glaring over at James.

"I just don't want us to look like a bunch of jerks. Word spreads quickly around here," James replied.

Dave maneuvered his hat.

"She did say she was good with kids, didn't she?" he asked his partner.

Before James could answer, Dave made an abrupt u-turn to head back to the motel.

The boys in the back were not expecting it.

"What the hell is going on?!" Jesse yelled.

"Boss is going to give the girl a chance!" James said.

There was a brief period of confusion.

"Hey! Finally something to look at besides cattle!" Robert said, trying to persuade himself that Dave's decision was good.

"Woohoo!!" the others shouted, not seeming to care that they were just making fun of the girl.

Dave pulled in, got out, and entered the front lobby.

"Hey Nick, which room is Alisha in? She just came in a bit ago."

"She's in room 12. What's up, Dave?"

"I ran into her in the diner and she was asking for work, and I told I'd talk it over with the guys. Anyway, thought I'd give her a chance."

"That's nice. You should. She's a nice girl, at least from the minute I talked to her. Jenny liked her too, and she's a better judge of character than I am," Nicholas said.

Meanwhile, Alisha had just finished a hot shower and threw on a more comfortable t-shirt and short, pink, girly boxers. She turned on the local country station and went to dry her hair when there was a bang on the door. It didn't seem normal.

"Who is it?" Alisha asked.

"It's Dave from the diner....mam."

Alisha was pleasantly surprised. She kept the chain on the door and opened it half a foot, enough to make the conversation easier.

"Can I help you, Mr. Martin," she said with slight rudeness.

Dave just stared at what he could see of her. Not just her short shorts, but her shirt. She had no bra on underneath it, and apparently, Alisha didn't realize it.

"Be at my ranch by five-thirty am, sharp."

"Five-thirty? The birds ain't even up yet."

"That's the working life on a ranch, little lady. If you can't handle it, then maybe...."
