CHAPTER 08 - Meet the Jeons

Jiwon was getting herself ready for her first meeting with the future in laws. She was so nervous that she kept on sweating and her stomach kept on grumbling like crazy. She had been going in and out of the toilet almost three times after her shower. She put on her only dress that was given by her late grandmother for her 17th birthday. Glad that she didn't put on weight or grew taller otherwise she might have to borrow from Soojung since she is one size bigger. Although it was a bit old, but that was all she ever had.

It is a simple sleeveless burgundy chiffon round neck with a cross back which fits perfectly on her small figure. But since her back was a bit exposed which made her uncomfortable so she decided to put on a black leather jacket on top to cover it, at least along the way to his house. It would be too awkward wearing such dress in front of him being alone together.

She put on a light makeup on her face to appear natural and modest. She brushed off a light pink lip gloss to give color to her pale lip. She let her wavy black hair down to give of a feminine look which she rarely did. She neatly adjusted her fringe which exposed her forehead. She really looked unusually beautiful. Little did she know someone was observing her the moment she went out of the bathroom.

"Jiwonie...why are you dressing up oddly tonight? Are you going to a party? Why aren't you inviting me along?"

"Oh Soojungie...am I overdressing? Do I look horrible in this dress? I look fat, right?" she was worried.

"Depends on where you are going but, you look great. And when are you ever fat. Never seen once. Tell me already, what is it?"

"I promise to tell you when I get back, okay. I am too nervous to say anything."

"You are acting strangely, Jiwonie. I'm getting more curious."

"Nothing much, I swear," trying to convince her best friend. Then, her phone vibrated. Jungkook was calling. She quickly picked up her phone before Soojung peeked at the name.

"Are you ready? I'm at the front gate. Do you want me to come in?" - Jungkook.

"I'm ready. Just wait there. I'm coming." - Jiwon

"Soojung, I'll get going. By the way, can you help me with something?"

"What is it?"

"Can you please distract your family for a bit? I don't want them to see me like this."

"Anything for you, friend. Just follow behind me."

Jiwon managed to escape without anyone noticing to the front door. As soon as she opened the door, someone she was trying to avoid the whole time was standing right in front of her. She quickly shut the door behind closing the gap between the both of them. His eyes widened while staring at you coldly.

"Jongsuk oppa!" she exclaimed.

"Is that your friend?" Jongsuk pointed at the black car in front of the gate.

"Y-yes, he-he is my..."

"Then, go." He cut her off and shoved her by pushing her shoulder hard signaling her to walk forward. Then, he stormed into the house without turning back.

She sighed deeply at his behavior. 'Why does he hate me so much?'

She tried to ignore him by walking towards Jungkook's car. As soon as she saw his figure, she felt butterflies in her stomach again. Her fingers were fidgeting and she could feel a bead of sweat running down her forehead. He was staring at her at the same time. Impressed by her appearance that he never seen before. As she was walking towards him, the night breeze was brushing her hair away making his heart to beat vigorously. 'She is beautiful.'
