CHAPTER 19 - Blackmail

He felt emptiness surrounding him as soon as he opened his eyes. Trying to remember everything that happened last night. They both fell asleep in each other's arms. It was the best sleep he had ever had since he went to America. No wonder he woke up late. The wall clock stroked twelve noon. He lazily brought himself to sit. Then, he noticed a note next to his cellphone.

I head to work first. Leave whenever you're awake. I made you some breakfast. Finish it and wash the dishes as a gratitude. Don't forget to lock the door.

He smiled at the short reminder. 'She asked me to leave but still made me breakfast. How cute!'

He did his morning routine. Jiwon prepared a new towel and toothbrush for him. He put on the same clothes he wore last night. When he was having breakfast, he received a phone call.

"Jungkook honey! Where have you been? I've been calling you a hundred times already. You were not in your room this morning! Where are you?"

"Mom, mom! Relax, okay. I'm not a baby anymore. Stop worrying. I'm at Jiwon's since last night."

"What did you just say? You are not serious, right?"

"I sent her home last night since it's already late."

"Then, why didn't you come back?"

"I'm too tired to drive back. So, I slept here."

"Jeon Jungkook! Have you forgotten what she did to you? She hates you, honey!"

"No, mom! She didn't," he was sure about that.

"How did you know?"

"She told me," he remembered how she shook her head last night to his last question and he believes her.

"And you simply believed her? What has gotten into you, honey? What did she do to you?"

"I trust her, mom. At least, I want to trust her. And she did nothing, I fall for her first."

"She is not good for you, honey. Mina is the best for you."

"Stop it, mom. Why are you so against her? She did nothing to you."

"She ignored us. You and me. She left us without a word, remember?"

"She must have a reason," trying to have faith.

"Then, what is it? Did she tell you as to why?"

He was left speechless. There was nothing to defend her. It was obvious she abandoned him.

"Just come back, honey. I'll be waiting for you for dinner." She put down the phone.

'Did she really hates me? Then, what's with the note? The breakfast? Why would she do all this when she hates me?'

He was filled with confusion. His mind was agreeing to whatever his mother told him but, his heart was rejecting it and still have faith in her.

He finished the food and washed the dishes as been told. He left her a note. And left the place after locking the door. He refused to leave at first. The phone call made him walked away. Disappointed.

Meanwhile, Jiwon was occupying herself with her work. Once in a while, she would wonder what Jungkook was doing. 'Is he awake? Does he eat the breakfast? Has he leave?'
