"I thought I was rescuing her, I thought I was the knight in shining armor. But it turns out, she was the badass princess that was rescuing me." ~ Steve Maraboli

They were walking hand in hand, along the pavements of a beautiful garden, dressing in white matching clothes, the birds chirping playfully, the cool breeze calms the shaft of light from the sun, the green grass covering the earth like a blanket, the unending path were tiring yet soothing, albeit it took forever for them to arrive at the destination. The feeling of being together was what the heart yearns for blinding all the obstacles and adventures.
Jungkook had been admitted to the hospital for almost two weeks. However, since Jiwon left that day, he had been sleeping not even bothering to wake up, as if he had found the way to happiness, his wandering soul had flown away far and couldn't find the road to come back home, or maybe it didn't want to return. The doctor said that he was too weak and since he kept on refusing any treatments, it was getting worst and to the point that his life was in danger. However, he clearly wasn't even bothered.
She was currently sitting on the chair next to his bed, holding his pale hand in hers, gripping it tight, hoping that he will wake up by the warm touch she was trying to convey. She was there after Mrs. Jeon begged her again yesterday to pay him a visit. The mother believed that her presence would help tremendously. And this time, she wasn't forced yet, she was more than willing to be with him at the moment. She didn't want to lose him anymore. She wanted to grab the chance to stay with him as Mrs. Jeon had fully blessed their genuine relationship.
"He had been sleeping for two weeks already, Jiwon-shi. His condition is getting worse. He doesn't even eat or drink for a long time. He was killing himself slowly. Jiwon-shi, please! Stay with him. I beg you, please! It was my fault all along. I stopped two hearts from loving each other. It was my biggest mistake. Stop him from dying, Jiwon-shi. I only have him now, please. I can't imagine myself without him. Can you?"
The magic word 'Can you?'. So, there she was, praying silently for him to open his eyes. She was staring at him deeply, his eyes were still shut. He had been depending on the drip connecting to his hand, which already turned purplish, he had no energy left in him. He felt so cold under her touch, lifeless but still breathing.
She observed his figure laying on the bed, he got thinner, his skin turned pale, lips drying and cracked, eyes swollen with dark circles, he looked terrible. The water in her eyes started to roll down her cheeks, sobbing loudly holding the pain in her heart, tears dropped on the bed like waterfalls, that was when she tried to imagine her life without him, without Jeon Jungkook.
It was a nightmare, dark dreams hunting her as the sun sets, it had been crazy these past years, but she knew that he was still breathing somewhere, and it soothed her. 'What if he is no longer in this world, can I survive a moment knowing he no longer exist, knowing he is buried deep down, and it was all because of me?' She was given a chance but she blindly turned her back on it. She was asked to help him but she refused. He loves her to death but she ignored it. 'No! No! No!' she shook her head abruptly.
"I love you, Jeon Jungkook!"
"I love you so much!"
"I love you with all my heart!"
"I love you and will always love you!"
"I love you and I need you!"
"I love you and I want you alive!"
"Wake up! Please, wake up! I am here, open your eyes, please...look at me! I am finally here! Please, Jeon Jungkook!" she was begging him while shaking his arm, calling his name to wake up. She slowly moved closer to him, and with that, she kissed him, warmly on the lips.
