CHAPTER 18 - Good Night

"Are you leaving?"

She heard the voice asking casually from her back.

"What are you doing outside?" Jiwon was startled to see Jungkook coming from the porch. She thought he was inside chilling with Mina in the living room.

"Sending Mina off?" He answered with a question kind of tone.

"She didn't live here?" she was very sure that Mina is living together with him as she is the future daughter in law of the household.

"Why would she? She had her own place." He was taken aback by her mindless claim.

"Of-Of course. I-I'll be leaving then." She quickly fastened her pace towards the front gate before he finds out that she was crying a while ago.

"Already." He grabbed her hand harshly and pulled her shoulder to face him.

"It's getting late. I've got work tomorrow too." They were only a breath away, her heart was hammering her ribcage.

"Can't you stay a bit?" Jungkook pleaded her with his bunny face, eyes sparkling with sympathy.

"Sorry. I don't have time."

"Are you so busy?" He roughly brought her closer until she bumped into his muscular chest.

"Sort of." Her hands were laying on his abs, trying to create a distance or more to pull him away.

"Is that why you never replied to me?" his once soothing voice turned to a stonic tone.

"Yes." She walked off.

"Wait! How are you going back?" Jungkook.

"Taxi." Jiwon.

"It's late. There will be no cab around this time." Jungkook still trying to make her stay.

"I'll take a bus." Jiwon still trying to refuse.

"You have to walk far." He stopped himself in front of her, blocking the way.

"I'll walk." She unwillingly paused her tracks.

"But it's dark."

"I'll flash a light. Can you move away now?" He shook his head in respond.

"Can't you just stay?"

"Nope!"

"Then, wait for a bit. I'll send you." He wouldn't let her walk away alone in the dark.

"No need too." Jiwon was slowly getting irritated.

"Spend the night here."

"No!"

"Let me drive you back."

"Don't have to."

"Then, I'll walk with you."

"Leave me alone."

"I won't."

"Stop following me."

"Never."

"Jeon Jungkook!"

"Jeon Jiwon!" with that she froze. "Just let me drive you." He dragged her to his car and started the engine.

"So, are you still living there?"

"Yup!"

"How's work?"
