Allie's POV

"One drink," I sighed at my roommate Anna as we pulled into the parking lot of a bar not too far from the UGA campus. I knew it was the end of finals but after a week of studying my ass off all I wanted to do was sleep. "All I want is some sleep. I promised Aunt Liz I would head back to Jefferson tomorrow and help her in the bakery."

"Ok come on you party pooper," Anna said shaking her head at me poking her lip out. Her chin length blonde hair flying as she did. "We've studied our asses off this week. We deserve a night out to blow off some steam." She gave me a wink. "Besides I called Liz earlier and personally promised to deliver you Sunday. She said to tell you to have fun!"

"Dammit Anna!" I whined as she parked the car giving me a pointed look.

"Lighten up Allie," she said. "You buried yourself in school work for the last semester ever since that blow up with that stupid ass frat boy."

"His name was Josh," I grumbled checking my makeup in the mirror then glared at her.

"Josh was a douchebag and a half," Anna said matter of factly as we climbed out. She locked the doors behind us, sliding her keys in her shorts pocket, and linking her arm with mine. "You need a man. Not some silly ass boy. Good thing you never introduced him to your dad. He would have pissed himself for sure. Look, lets have a few drinks, do some dancing, get hit on a little bit. Corey Smith is playing tonight and he's really good."

"Fine," I said with a sigh reluctantly grinning as she tugged me inside.

A while later I was sitting at the bar nursing a beer. Thank god this bar didn't check closely to the fake ID's Anna had gotten made for us a few months ago when we turned twenty. I looked around for Anna seeing her out on the dance floor with a girl from her psychology class getting down. I flagged the bartender down for another whiskey shot, thinking what the hell. It was Anna's idea to come out. She could be the one stuck driving home.

The DJ was playing right now since the first band was wrapping up when we walked in the door. I was in the middle of downing my shot when I felt someone settle onto the stool beside me. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a guy with a backwards Braves hat on looking at me. Noticed the heavy rings on his fingers knowing he was a little bit different than the preppy types Anna and I usually ran with. I didn't grow up with that crowd, could be why things with Josh didn't work. I focused on sipping my beer when I felt a finger tap my shoulder making me turn my head. The guy was giving me a wide grin then winked at me.

"So did it hurt?" he asked leaning closer to me sipping his beer. I got a whiff of his cologne and my mouth watered. Damn he smelled good.

"Do what?" I asked giving him a funny look.

"When you fell from heaven because I am most definitely looking at an angel," he said tracing a finger on my hand. Yep, that did it for me right there. I choked on my sip of beer and couldn't keep the laugh in. I pulled my hand away and arched an eyebrow at him.

"Seriously big guy," I said shaking my head. "That's the best you could come up with?"

"Well I noticed your accent is a little different," he said with a mischievous smile. "Are you from Tennessee by chance?"

"Huh?" I asked puzzled. "No, I'm not."

"Well darlin," he drawled biting his lip making a show of looking around. Who the hell was this dude? "You are the only ten I see."

I couldn't help it. I lost it laughing. I had heard some cheesy one liners but oh my lord. His green eyes narrowed at me as I bit my lip to control my laughter to not be completely rude. I took a drink of beer to calm myself then looked over at him. I pasted a wide smirk on my lips as I fluttered my lashes at him then looked across the bar at a blonde with an obvious dye job that was spilling out of her tube top. She didn't look like the sharpest tool in the shed. I pointed at her then looked over at him.
