Allie's POV

When we made it back to the house after bugging Liz for a while, Kolby had been waiting needing Brantley's help with something for his truck. I'd waved them off with a smile telling B I was gonna head in the house to get a little more work done on the back log of photos I had. That had lasted for five minutes before I kept glancing at my Kindle in the pocket of my computer bag and I remembered the book Liz had told me about a while back that I had downloaded. I debated for a second then closed my laptop, pulled my Kindle out then headed out to the back deck.

I grinned finding my favorite lounge chair still there. At least he hadn't blown that up. I'm sure knowing him, he thought about it at least once. I settled down stretching my legs out and got lost in the book. It had been a while since I had taken the time to just relax and read. Used to be a past time of ours out here after we moved in. I would read, and Brantley would settle down with his songbook and guitar writing. I wasn't sure how long I had been out here when I heard footsteps behind me. A second later I felt my ponytail being tugged and I turned my head to see Kolby grinning down at me.

"Should have known I would find you out here," he said with a laugh sitting down on the end of my chair and putting my feet in his lap. Guess it was a good thing that I had been an only child for most my life because I had eventually been blessed with the annoying little brother. Who later became my rock when life was going downhill. He had stuck with me and did the best to help me pick up the pieces after the divorce. I'd reminded him time and again he didn't have to. That I would have understood him siding with his brother. He'd glared at me reminding me that I was still his sister. A piece of paper didn't change that. "Always was your favorite spot."

"Yea," I said quietly giving him a small smile.

"Feel weird?" Kolby asked giving me a knowing look taking a sip out of the water bottle in his hand. "Being back?"

"Yes and no," I said shrugging my shoulders. "He's changed some stuff and then some things are the same you know. The pictures are down and its way more bachelor pad than I ever envisioned this house being, but it is what it is."

"It'll always be your home Allie," he said squeezing my foot. "One of the things that drove him crazy. Got to where he spent as little time here as possible. Still saw you everywhere. Took him a while to even want to see Liz. There have may have been a few ear tugs involved in that but he changed his tune when it came to her. But on a lighter note what you reading?"

"Oh, its about BDSM," I said with a laugh. "You know me, I am down for any book as long as it has a good storyline." Kolby started choking on his water then looked at me when he stopped coughing.

"Al," he said raising an eyebrow looking at me. "There something you need to tell me. I mean I knew that there had only really been Jake. Never would have pegged....."

I cut him off kicking him in the chest rolling my eyes and laughing.

"No," I said shaking my head. "You and I both know I am too damn bossy for that. I am just like my dad. Closest man to a Dom in my life is your brother and I have no problem telling him where to go and frequently. I would stay in more trouble with him now than I already do. Man would keep twitchy palms."

"Very true," Kolby said shaking his head then pulling out his phone to answer a text. I focused back on the page I was reading enjoying the quiet. A few minutes later I felt a necklace brush the top of my hair as Brantley leaned over my shoulder reading. Oh boy, here it goes because of what was happening on the page.

"Mmmm baby girl," he rasped leaning down in my ear. "Where did you find this book? I could get behind something like that."

I shrugged my shoulders never taking my eyes off the page as I tried to finish it without losing it. Oh he and Kolby both were mid chug from their water bottles. This was gonna be good.
