14. First Dances & First Loves.

As we arrived to the dance I pulled out my nude lipstick & Compact mirror. I applied a generous amount considering its nude and it fades quickly.
I looked around at the setup.
It really came together beautifully.
The drink and food bar was aligned along the front wall with all kinds of drinks and snacks ( of course no Alcohol though ) There was a little Hollywood type backdrop where you could take photos.
Along the back side there was a giant stage where the king and queen Will be announced later on..
I walked through the dance floor hoping to catch up with Jesse and Maddox. Bella was on the phone out in the hall.
" Hey Lame girl" I heard somebody call out behind me.
Great. I thought. It's honestly just what I need today.
" What do you want Valerie?" I asked through gritted teeth.
" Oh nothing just to tell you what a real sicko you are..." She said smirking.  I stared at her for a moment I really didn't want the tears to start flowing. " oh and by the way I hope you know Jesse McCall is only friends with you because her feels sorry for you." She said laughing.
She started to walk away... " what do you want from me Valerie?" I called walking towards her.. " I'm done being the victim in all of your sick games I don't even know what I did to you." I kept walking.
She turned and leveled her face with my mine.
Everyone was staring at us now.
" it's been this way since 6th grade and it's time for it to stop" I said.
" I've never don't anything to you and still you treat me terribly."
I turned and started to walk out of the gymnasium before she could respond. I honestly don't care if I embarrassed myself or her.
I felt the tears start flowing after I finally made it to the bathroom.
Gosh I hated Valerie but i'm proud of what I did.
Talking to myself apparently made me cry harder.
A few minutes later Bella came into the bathroom and saw me crying.
" Oh my gosh Lil I'm so sorry" she said coming over to comfort me.
" She shouldve never treated you like that." Bella said soothing me.

A few minutes later I reapplied my makeup and straightened my hair and went back to the dance.
Me & Bella walked back into the dance and found a table along the right wall.  The dance was in the middle of a loud song so there were people bobbing up & down and Left & Right.
After that song Bella & I danced to a couple songs then we finally came over and took a break.
The first slow song was on and Bella and I were sitting there like freaks.
Until Jesse & Maddox came over..
" Um would you like to dance?" Maddox asked Softly.
" I'd love to" I replied and took his hand and walked down to the dance floor.  There was a soft piano ballad playing from the stage.
I put my arms around his neck smiling,
I looked into his soft green eyes.
I leaned my head on his shoulders softly.
We just swayed for a little bit before the song finished.
I looked over to see Bella and Jesse dancing I'm really happy for them I thought smiling.

After the dance We dropped Maddox and Bella at their houses.
Jesse walked me to the door.
I hugged him and started walking into my house.
Jesse softly caught my arm.
" Um...Lily.." he started before trailing off.
" Yeah?" I asked walking back out.
" I Um need to tell you something..." he trailed off Again.
I looked at him, "I really like you a lot. I always have.." he said looking away.  " Oh Jesse I love you but as a friend. I'm really sorry but we have a great friendship and I don't wanna break that." I said smiling sadly.
I softly kissed him on the cheek before walking into my house.
