31. Evidence

" Guys I'm going back." Jesse said impatiently. " Jesse no! You are not going back by yourself!" Bella yelled equally as impatient. Jesse looked at Maddox silently asking him to help with a safety crazed Bella. " Sorry Jess but I agree with Bella. You heard Quincie, Her 17 year old brother is missing." Maddox said shrugging.
Jesse groaned " Thanks for being so supportive." Jesse said his voice dripping with Sarcasm.

" I have an idea." Bella said lighting up. " Let's all go!" Bella exclaimed excitedly. Maddox and Jesse shared a look. " There is safety in numbers." Bella said slapping both of them on the back. " Ow what the heck." Jesse said rubbing his stinging back.
" Sorry, Stop being a baby. lets go!" Bella said as she started walking out the door of Her house. " Hey wait up!" Maddox yelled throwing his shoes on quickly.

They were going back to the woods despite Jesse's attempt to go by himself, They all went along.
Can't say no to Bella. Right?

" Ouch! Dang it!" Jesse yelped as he trudged along through the brambles on the forest floor.
" Jesse. Why today of all days did you decide to wear the shoes with holes and basically no bottom?" Bella said annoyed. " I actually don't know." Jesse said slowly. " Boys. I will never understand the level of stupidity." Bella said rolling her eyes.
" Okay, Excuse me?" Jesse said mocking her tone of voice but making it three pitches higher to annoy her.
" You are such a child." Bella stated.
" Oh I'm the child." Jesse said sarcastically. " Yes, Yes you are." Bella replied smirking.
" Okay Guys enough. How are we going to work together if you guys are both acting like 4 year olds?" Maddox said annoyed. " Okay, Okay Sorry." Bella said raising up her hand in surrender. " Yeah me too." Jesse said simply. " Alright good now lets get to work." Maddox said firmly.
Bella and Jesse exchanged a look saying.. Since When did Maddox become so bossy?

"Alright Guys We've looked for almost 45 minutes and found nothing what are we going to do?" Bella said exasperated. " I guess look some more?" Jesse said questioningly.
" Let's head this way." Maddox said motioning to the left.
" Okay sounds good." Jesse said quickly. Not wanting to get into it with Maddox this afternoon. " Hey Guys go ahead I'll catch up." Bella said suddenly Bending down to tie her shoelaces. " Uh Okay we won't be far." Jesse said as he and Maddox started walking toward the left.
Bella pushed her dark brown hair out of her eyes she quickly searched her backpack for a hair tie but soon realized she forgot one. It was pretty humid today unfortunately.
She looked at her surroundings carefully taking in every bush and tree around her.
And that's when she saw it. It was nestled between to trees stuck on a tree branch. A small piece of pink silk and was stuck and torn off of an item.
It looked very similar to what Lily's dress color and material was.

Bella shook her head lightly. It couldn't be. Just because she found pink silk doesn't mean it was Lily's.
I mean for God's sake she had no idea that Lily was in the woods. Or even that she was still wearing her dress.
But it was worth a shot. Right?

" Maddox, Jesse come here!!" Bella yelled loudly. Bella's tone of voice was probably enough for the entire forest to hear. " What is it?!" Jesse said as he and Maddox came running. When Jesse saw she was fine, He put his hand on his head. Wiping sweat from his eyes. " Jesus Bella you scared us!" Maddox said annoyed. Bella shrugged. " Sorry." She said sheepishly. " But look! I found something." She said walking over to the tree branch.
" Isn't that. Like part of her dress." Jesse said his eyes wide.
" Yeah it's the same color and Material." Bella said reaching out to grab it. Jesse swatted her hand away quickly. " Bella what are you doing! If this is part of it your fingerprints will be all over it!" Jesse said quickly.
" Sorry, You're right." Bella said slowly  nodding. "Okay one sec." Jesse said as he crouched down swinging his backpack off his shoulder. He filtered through it until he found what he was looking for. A clear piece of tape.
"Uh really a piece of tape?" Bella said sarcastically.  "Uh Yeah, Really, It's a piece of tape." He replied mocking her tone even more sarcastically.
" Watch and learn." He took the piece of tape and stuck it to the piece of fabric. He gently tugged trying to pull it off of the tree branch. That's when he knocked it to the ground.
" Oh my god." Bella whispered as she looked down at it. " Holy Crap. We have a problem." Maddox said seriously pulling himself to look away.
