Broken.

30. Trapped.

" Holy Crap!!" Maddox yelled as he saw it. He and Bella ran to a young girl she was trapped underneath A big oak tree. It looked like she had crawled out mostly but her foot was trapped under the thickest part of the tree. " Oh my god are you okay?" Bella asked loudly rushing to her side.
" Yeah I'm okay I've just been stuck here for awhile and I can't really feel my leg." She said weakly.
" It's okay we will get you out don't worry." Bella said softly.
Her and Maddox tried to lift the trunk up but without luck failed.

" Okay, Uh plan B." Maddox said slowly. " Uh what's plan B?" Bella asked scratching her head softly.
" plan B is....Think Of plan C" Maddox said slowly. Bella lightly smacked his arm. " I'm trying here!" Maddox said before a smile lit up his face.
" I've got it." He said before saying..
" We either pull her leg out or roll it off." Maddox said planning.
" That's the Maddox I know." Bella said high fiving him.

Bella and Maddox tried to roll it off first but failed without luck again.
So Bella took the young girls leg into her hand carefully not wanting to hurt it. She softly pulled and Maddox tried pulling the tree trunk the other way.
Bella could sense the girl clenching her jaw with pain next to her but if she stopped now she would have to start again. They were finally making progress. Bella yanked her leg hard finally pulling it out. Bella sat down on the forest floor breathing hard before the young girl sat up and threw her arms around Bella hugging her warmly. " Thank you." She whispered into Bella's hair. Bella hugged her back harder in response.
" Thank you." She turned to look at Maddox smiling. " Oh! Well..Um.. It was really nothing." Maddox said blushing. Bella sent Maddox a cheesy smile. He turned a deeper shade of red and looked away.

Maddox and Bella helped her up and started walked carefully back to the meeting point. " What's your name?" Bella asked trying to distract her from the pain searing in her right leg.
" My name is Quincie" she said softly.
" That's a beautiful name. I'm Bella and this is Maddox." She said pointing to Maddox. Quincie nodded, Her eyes were sparkling. " Well we are going to go to our meeting spot for our search party and the medic there will check out your leg. I'm pretty sure it's broken though." Bella said sadly.
" Yeah I assumed it was." Quincie said a little more upbeat then they would have thought.

They kept walking they were almost there Bella and Maddox had Quincie draped around their shoulders holding her bad leg up.
Then they heard something..
" Well Benjamin you are one of your kind that's for sure." They heard the voice of a elderly woman. Bella and Maddox looked at each other trying not to laugh. Finally Jesse appeared in the clearing with the older woman hanging onto his arm for dear life.
" What Happened?" Jesse asked before helping the woman back in her walker and running over toward them.
" This is Quincie she was trapped underneath a giant oak tree for days. We just got her out and we're trying to get to the medics." Bella said rushed.
Jess stared at them in shock. We took Bella's place looping Quincie's arm around his shoulder and pointed Bella towards the old woman still waiting.
Bella looked at Jesse pleading not to leave her here with her. The old woman was talking to herself about her cats by the clearing. Jesse chuckled softly. Sorry. He mouthed his eyes twinkling. Bella walked over to the older woman. Introduced herself and started helping her back towards the meeting spot. The whole while there she talked about her cats, Her husband who had passed away and Benjamin also known as Jesse.

After the medics checked out Quincies leg Bella had offered her a ride home.
" So How did you get trapped underneath the tree to begin with?.." Bella asked turning down the stereo in her car. " Well I was sitting underneath the tree and I fell asleep and when it fell it knocked all the breath out of me so I just laid there for about a day before I got my strength back. After that a rainstorm came and created mud which stuck the tree to the ground even more so I just moved a little more and more until i moved my stomach out of it but I kept trying and I just couldn't get my leg out. I'm lucky I had water and energy bars in my backpack or I wouldn't have made it." She said softly. " Wait do you haven't eaten anything but energy bars in the past three days?" Bella asked softly. Quincie shook her head.
Bella made a pit stop at Wendy's and they went inside. " One more question I promise this is the last one I don't want to bombard you but why were you in the woods to begin with?" Bella asked slowly. " I was looking for my brother. He disappeared two weeks ago. His name is Jamil."
