Chapter 6

The next thing I knew was my sister sat in the police station. She was talking to a cop. Fear consumed me. The day I was dreading was finally here. My sister was back. I had to be prepared to fight, but I wasn't. I ran out of the police station. Police cars crowded the parking lot. I hurried home.

My parents and Leo were there. Leo smiled at me. His smile faded when he saw my  face.

"Tiffany is back."

"We know. The police called." My mom responded.

"We were just about to go to her." My dad informed me.

"Do you want to come with us?

"No." I replied. I could heat the panic in my voice. My parents didn't seem to notice. They  went out the door.

"Where you at the police station?" Leo asked.

"Yes. Detective Brians wanted to talk."

"What does he think about this?"

"I'm not sure. Right when Tiffany got there, I left." Leo started pacing. He was just as worried as I was.

"I don't know what we're going to do. Maybe we could-"

"I want to handle her myself. I don't want you to get hurt." I interrupted him.

"I want to help." He insisted.

"You could get hurt." I protested.

"Don't you think I worry about you getting hurt?"

"Okay." I knew he wouldn't give this up. "But be careful. She's like a cat, sneaky and she'll attack you when you're not looking." I warned.

"I'm not afraid of her."

"You should be." I replied.

"Cats are dogs biggest enemies." He pointed out.

"Then be prepared for a fight."
