Chapter 10
I sat in the police station with Leo. He wanted to help me with my sister. We were meeting with Detective Brians.
"Do you think he'll believe you?" Leo asked. I nodded. "Then you're going to kill your sister."
"I don't think she'll go down that easily." I said. Detective Brians opened his office door and invited us in. We sat in front of his desk. He offered us drinks.
"No, but thanks anyway." I smiled.
"You're being oddly nice to me."
"I've realized you're not the enemy." I replied. "Tiffany is and she wants to kill you."
"She does?" He seemed surprised. I pulled out my phone and played the recording. Detective Brians listened closely. Once it was done, Detective Brians looked tortured. He really cared about her.
"I'm sorry." Leo said.
"It's alright. Tiffany never cared about anyone. I should have seen this coming."
"Why did she want you to place the blame on your dad?" Leo asked.
"Back in May, my sister sent me a letter. It said that two people in my life don't care about either of us. She thinks those people are my parents. I'm not so sure though. I mean, how can someone not care about their children? My parents do know who the curse is going to kill, but they won't tell us." I explained.
"Why won't they tell you?" Detective Brians asked.
"They said they don't want to freak us out."
"They already know how it ends." Leo concluded.
"How do we stop your sister?"
"We should get to her before she gets to us." I suggested.
Detective Brians nodded. "Kill her before she kills us."
"She was planning to do this Saturday." I informed them.
"We could actually use a werewolf." Detective Brians motioned to Leo.
"What do you mean?"
"When she corners me, you can jump out and surprise her." Detetive Brians said.
"A giant wolf is pretty distracting." I agreed.
"I guess."
"She's not an idiot. She'd know what we're doing." Detective Brians pointed out.
"You don't think we can beat her?"
"No, I think we can. You're more stubborn than she is." Leo nodded in agreement.
"I think that's a good thing."
"So, we've all got the plan. I've got to get back to work." We stood and went to the door.
"I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but thank you Detective Brians."
"I'm sorry again about Tiffany." Leo chimed in.
"Sometimes giving out your trust easily can really hurt you. Remember that, Chelsey."
"I will." We left the police station.
