Chapter 9

I sat on my bed for the next two hours, learning as many spells as I could. After a while, the door of my room opened. Tiffany sat on the edge of my bed.

"That's not going to help you." She stared at the book in my hand. "When I fight, I don't go by a rule book. I do whatever I can to win."

"That might be your fault." I stated.

"You actually think you can win?" She sneered.

"Who knows?"

"You could never beat me." She smirked.

"I won't know unless I try."

"Try if you want. Your attempt will be pointless." She paused. "I need your help with something."

"Why would I help you?" I asked.

"We have a common enemy. I want to kill Detective Brians." She explained.

"I thought you loved him." I raised my eyebrows.

"He loves me. I just needed him." She really didn't have a heart.

"I'll let you handle your boyfriends yourself." I declined.

She shrugged. "I can do it without you." Then I got an idea. I pulled out my phone and hit the record button.

"What's your plan to kill Detective Brians?"

"You've changed your mind?"

"I'm just keeping my options open." I replied.

"I planned to trap him and use a spell to cut off his powers. I'll kill him with a gun. Then I'll plant the gun on our dad."

"Why?"

"He'll go to jail and we'll have to figure out how to get rid of mom. After that, maybe we can figure out how to stop the curse. We could finally be free."

"You'd really go through with that?"

"I would. You could be free too. We could find someone else to take the blame for the fires and then your name will be cleared." I had to admit, it was a good plan, but it was also very wrong.

"I'll help you, if you do what you said you would." I looked up at her.

"Great. We'll do this on Saturday." She left the room. I looked as my phone. It recorded our full conversation. This hopefully would be enough for Detective Brians to believe that Tiffany didn't love him. And maybe he'd help me stop her. She had to be stopped, before it was too late.
