Chapter 14

Saturday, Detective Brians came over to my house. He wanted to make sure everything was in place.

"You're going to meet your sister at the police station at noon. Then you'll act like you're apart of her plan."

"When she corners you, Leo will jump out and surprise her." I finished.

"Where is Leo?" Detective Brians asked.

"I think he's running late." I replied.

"I'll see you later." He left. I pulled out my phone and dialed Leo's number. It went to voice mail. Leo usually answered his phone, especially at a time like this. I looked at the time. It was about the time I should be meeting Tiffany. I went outside and tried Leo again. He didn't answer. I was worried about him, so I kept trying to call him. I walked to the police station. Tiffany was waiting for me.

"Let's do this."

"What's the plan?" I asked.

"We're going to get him in the alley. Then we'll kill him." She didn't look sad.

"That's so morbid. You act like you don't care about him at all."

She shrugged. "I don't."

"Alright. Let's do this."

"I'll get him. You go to the alley." I nodded and did what I was told. Tiffany sauntered inside. I pulled out my phone and dialed Leo's number. He didn't answer. I dialed a different number.

"Hello?"

"Stanley. Can you help me with something? Leo was supposed to help me, but he isn't here and he isn't answering his phone."

"Sure. What do you need?"

"I have a plan to stop Tiffany." I told him the details and where to meet me.

"I'll be right there." We hung up.

About ten minutes later, Stanley pulled up to the curb. He got out of the car and hurried up to me.

"What do you need me to do?" He asked. I remembered he was human and tried a different approach.

"Tiffany is bringing Detective Brians out here. When she does, can you distract her?"

"That sounds easy. I'll get right on it." He jogged away. I saw Tiffany coming over with Detective Brians. They held hands. There was a smile Detective Brians face. His eyes were smiling. He looked like he was exactly where he was supposed to be. Suddenly, I realized what was going on. Detective Brians still looked at her like a man in love. He smiled at her every chance he got. He wasn't going to help us. He was blinded by his love. They were planning this. I sprinted around, searching for Stanley. I found him behind a few trash cans.

"We need to abort the mission."

"What happened?" He seemed confused. I was about to explain everything, but I felt something hit my head. Stanley's blue eyes were the last thing I saw.
