Chapter 13
"Why?" I asked.
"When I visited Detective Jay Brians, she found out and thought I was working against her. She tried to kill me, but I got away." He explained.
"How?" Leo asked.
"She tried to cast a death spell on me. She didn't do it fast enough though."
"She really doesn't care about anyone but herself." I mused.
"To bad we didn't find this out sooner."
"It is." I agreed.
"I better go. I'll see you guys around." Stanley stood.
"How can I contact you about Tiffany?"
He pulled out a piece of paper and wrote on it. "Here's my number." Then he was gone.
"Should I be worried you're asking for guys' phone numbers?" Leo asked.
"Not at all." I picked up the paper and put it into my bag.
"He liked you though. I could tell."
"Leo, you're being paranoid." I stated.
He sighed. "Maybe I am. But it's hard to overlook the fact that he used to love a girl a lot like you. And you have the parts she was missing and he wanted her to have."
"What are those?"
"You're kind, caring, and you have light in your eyes. That's what makes you so beautiful, among other things." I grinned and kissed his cheek.
"We should go." We stood. Tomorrow was Saturday. The day someone would die.
