Chapter 7

About 30 minutes later, I was waiting for my family to return. Leo had to go help his mom with something, so I would deal with her myself. It's better that way. Leo wouldn't get hurt. The door flung open and my heart stopped. A beautiful blonde with big brown eyes walked in. Her hair hung in perfect curl behind her back. In the light, her hair looked the color of honey. Her body was perfectly skinny and her skin was pale. She looked like porcelain doll.

"Hey Chels, how'd you survive without me?" She hugged me. Her skin was cold.

"I managed." I replied.

"I'm back now." She smiled.

"It doesn't feel different than before."

"Trust me," She said. "It is."

"Great." I sighed.

"I'm going back to school tomorrow." She announced.

"This day gets better and better." I whispered.

"Don't get to excited. My surprise had yet to come." She pushed her hair over her shoulder.

"I bet I know what that surprise is." I faked a smile.

"It'll change everything for good." She went upstairs to prepare her room. I knew that her surprise would change everything forever.

I trudged into school the next morning, dreading every minute of the day. Tiffany was coming back to school today. Everyone was taking about it. I wanted to get away from it all. Leo came up to me in hall.

"I heard about Tiffany. Are you okay?" He hugged me.

"Not now, but I'll be fine." I replied. Suddenly, Tiffany came inside the school. All eyes were on her. She loved the attention, I could tell. She went straight to the office. Maggie and Ronnie joined us.

"Chelsey, we're sorry about what we said."

"I'm sorry too."

Maggie turned to Leo. "And we're sorry for not giving you a chance. You've totally got one now."

"Thank you." Leo smiled at them.

"Chels, if you want us to do something about Tiffany, we can." Ronnie offered.

"I think we all know that no one controls Tiffany."

"That's true." Maggie agreed. We went to class.

During second period, Donald, Maggie's brother, was talking about Tiffany.

"She looks good after two years of rehab."

"She didn't go to rehab." Leo told him.

"Where else would she go?"

"I don't know, but not rehab." I stood to leave the room.

"Do you want to know what I've always thought?" Donald asked.

"What?"

"That Chelsey is prettier because she has a brightness to her. Tiffany is all dark. And where that may be attractive, it only lasts so long."

"Okay." Leo said. I left the room before they could continue. I walked into the hall. A familiar blonde head was coming around the corner. It was Tiffany.

"Hey Chels." She beamed.

"Hey." I replied.

"It looks like I'm taking 10th and 11th grade classes to catch up to the seniors."

"Oh."

"I was wondering if you would help me. You were always better at the the school thing."

"What happened to wanting kill me?" I asked.

"I got to get to class." She smiled. "See you later."

"Bye."

She stopped and glanced over shoulder. "To answer your question, I haven't ruled anything out. My plan is still in place."

"What plan?"

"You'll have to wait and see."
