Chapter 17

My sister was home when we got there. She looked as if nothing happened. My parents were no where to be found.

"Where's mom and dad?" I asked.

She shrugged. "I don't really care." She left the room. I turned to Leo.

"She needs to be stopped." I whispered.

"How?" Leo asked.

"Well, recruiting cops is off the list. It seems she's one step ahead of us. We've got to surprise her."

"What's your plan?"

"Not here. I don't want to plan anything with her on the second floor." I motioned to the stairs.

"We could go somewhere." He suggested.

"I think we need Stanley's help."

"No we don't." He shook his head.

"There are only two of us and who knows how many people she has on her side."

"There's other people." He argued.

"Who exactly?" I asked.

"I don't know, but not Stanley."

"Why not? He knows about us and he is willing to help. He was deceived by my sister, just like a lot of people."

"Fine. He can help, but I don't trust him. He could be pulling the same thing Detective Brians was."

"Yes, but Detective Brians is dead now." I pointed out. "Stanley wouldn't want to be that way too."

"He's human though. What use is he to us?"

"Stanley is the only person that has been with Tiffany in the last two years. Other than Detective Brians. He probably knows a lot about her." I explained.

"If you think he's useful. I still don't like him."

"You don't have to like him, but I think you'd work better together if you did." He shrugged, ending the conversation.
