Chapter 11

The next few days went by slowly. We didn't see Detective Brians at all. Some part of me wondered if we should trust him. He did say he loved her. But he did want to stop her from killing him. Thursday afternoon, I overheard my sister talking on the phone. She sounded angry.

"Why are you hesitating?" She demanded. There was a pause.

"You're supposed to be on my side." She growled. She hung up the phone and stomped upstairs. I quickly picked up the phone and hit the redial button. After a few rings, a voice answered.

"Hello?" I remained silent. The person wasn't Detective Brians. It was a boy.

"Who is this?" I asked.

"Stanley Cooper. Who are you?" He asked.

"Why are you working with Tiffany?"

"She wanted me to help her with her sister." He replied.

"Why would she want your help?"

"Because I'm her boyfriend. I love her." I shook my head. My sister could deceive almost anyone.

"How long have you known her?"

"We met in Minnesota. She was running away at the time. I helped her with money and a place to stay."

"Stanley, I don't think you know Tiffany as well as you think you do." I said.

"How would you know? Who is this?"

"Are you a warlock?"

"No, I'm human." He responded.

"You know about witches?"

"Yes. Tiffany told me all about them. She also told me about her family curse. I want to help her kill her sister to save her."

"Will that even save her?"

I heard him sigh into the phone. "I don't know. Neither does Tiffany."

"You're going to kill a girl off this idea?"

"I know it sounds horrible, but it's all for Tiffany." He sounded brainwashed.

"What about this girl?"

"Don't tell Tiffany about this, but I'm going to save them both." He stated.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm going to try to save both sisters." He wasn't like the other guys my sister messed with.

"Stanley, you seem like a decent guy."

"Thank you." He replied.

"How do you know you can trust Tiffany?"

"She loves me."

"I don't think she does. Tiffany doesn't sound capable of love. She wants to kill her sister."

"How do you know?" He demanded.

"Go find Detective Jay Brians and ask him about Tiffany." I directed him.

"What does he know about her?"

"He loves her too."
