(A/N) The first couple chapters are a little rough, but it gets better. I promise.
Melody's pov
*beep beep beep* Ugh I hate that stupid alarm clock.
"Get up, Miles is not waiting for this morning. You have five minutes" my mom said.
Yeah that's her, for as long as I can remember she has always hated me. My brother, on the other hand, is perfect in her mind. I'm seventeen and he is eighteen, which in my mom's mind was probably the best year of her life.
My mom never really understood me, my dad did but he passed away when I was 10 from a car accident. She has resented me ever since because I was in the car and survived. I guess it's her way of dealing with grief.
I finally got out of bed and threw on some black jeans and a plain, white T-shirt. I also brushed through my hair and left it down. By the time I made it downstairs it was apparent that everyone left, so I decided to just walk to school. The school wasn't far and I just put my ear buds in and listened to music from my dad's old iPod, while I walked.
In a way I am glad my brother left before me, because that would've meant that I would've had to listen to him talk to his new girlfriend, Claire, on the phone the whole way. Because apparently whatever they talk about can't wait till we get to school.
Claire and her sister Cecelia are the worst girls in school. And I truly have no clue what my brother see's in her. Cecelia is in my grade and makes it her prerogative to torment me on a day to day basis.
I finally made it to school with a few minutes to spare before the bell rang. My first class was Journalism so I dug through my locker trying to find my textbook. There was only a few more days of school left till summer. Until last summer, they weren't well known for being great for me. It just meant more time at home which definitely is not something I find pleasure in.
Once I found my textbook I made my way to my class. As I was walking, I was tripped and I landed in an opened ketchup packet, probably left behind by yesterday's lunch.
I rolled over and looked up to Cecelia and her minions that were laughing with evil glares in their eyes.
"It looks like you got something there" Cecelia said through laughs.
I looked around and everyone was laughing, pointing, and shoving cameras in my face. I got up and pushed through the crowd and made my way to the bathroom. I looked in the bathroom mirror and sure enough Cecelia was right, I had a nice old reddish, orange stain on my shirt. Just great.
I decided to take a trip to the Nurse's office to see if she had anything I could wear. The only thing she said I could wear was a rainbow T-shirt that had My Little Pony characters all over it.
"You know what I think I will just stick with the ketchup stain, but thank you" I said.
"Well now that I think about it you do kind of smell and that might distract other students from their work, so now I am making it mandatory that you change" she replied "I will write you a pass for your teacher. Now go change!"
I took the shirt and went to the bathroom and changed. When I came out of the stall and looked in the mirror I looked five years old. My one thought at the moment was to just get through the day, so I could go home and continue my date with my bed.
When I came out of the bathroom everyone stared and laughed as expected. I dashed to my classroom and took a seat at my desk. I took a deep breath and continued to listen to the lecture the teacher was giving.

The day ended and I was so relieved. Throughout the day kids had laughed and posted pictures on social media of me. As I swallowed the tears and curse words I wanted to scream at them.
I made it back to my bed and the day was finally over.
And that's it for Chapter 1. Thank you so much for reading, I love you all so much the next chapter will be up shortly. Don't forget to smile!
Love, Kylie <3
