Dani's pov
I hadn't anticipated to answer Melody's phone call, but I can never risk the chance that she's in trouble no matter how hurt I am. Every word she said was like tiny daggers digging into my heart inch by inch. I'm hurt, confused, and unsure what I can do to change here mind.
Anna texted me that night, saying that she was coming to LA with Melody to pack all her stuff up. Which meant that I would have to face her today and say goodbye.
I finally went downstairs to see what the boys were up to. I had been pretty distant since Melody left and I felt bad because they're like my brothers and it's wrong for me to take it out on them.
"Hey guys" I said entering the living room. They were all sitting on the couch with cereal bowls while watching something on TV.
"Hey Dani, what's up?" Jack said while turning around to face me.
"Not much, how about you?" I asked him.
"Well Corbyn, Christina, and I are all going to go pick up Anna and Melody from the airport at noon. Do you want to come?"
"I shouldn't go" I told him.
"Why not?" Jack questioned.
"Uh... well" I swallowed hard on the lump in my throat "Melody and I broke up a couple of days ago" My voice was shaky at the end so I made my way back towards the stairs.
"Wait! Dani what happened? Don't just walk out on me!" Jack yelled after me.
"I'll see you later Jack, I don't want to talk about it" I slammed my door closed and locked it.
*************
It was about two and half hours later and I started to hear some comotion downstairs. I knew it meant that the girls were back.
A few minutes later there was knocking at my door.
"Go away!" I yelled at whoever was on the other side of the door.
"Dani, it's Anna. We need to talk" Anna's muffled voice said. I climbed out of bed and unlocked the door.
"Make it quick" I told her.
"I know you and Melody broke up, but I need you to know that it's for your best interest" Anna explained.
"Really? My best interest is to get my heart broken and the only explanation for it is that our lives are going in different paths because she is to stubborn to explore the other options out here in LA. She has to go to that fucking school in Portland! That she complained so many times to me about! How is that suppose to give me comfort?" I yelled.
"Maybe because you don't know the whole story. If you actually answered her texts and calls you would know that it's not her choice" Anna blurted out.
"What do you mean it's not her choice?" I asked.
"It's not my place to tell you" she answered.
"Please, I need some kind of closure that it's not her fault and that maybe, just maybe, we could find a way to get through all of this and be together."
"Her dad is forcing her by law to go to that school. She doesn't want to, believe me. She loves you Dani but before she even knew about her dad forcing her to go to that school, she knew that you needed space" Anna told me.
"I don't want space, I don't need it. I need her. I want her" I cried.
"I'm sorry Dani. Christina, Melody, and I are all going to the mall at 3:30 and should be back around 6 or 6:30. When we get back we can talk more. Bye, love you" she said before closing the door.
"Love you too" I mumbled.
(A/N) I'm so sorry I haven't been active recently. I was on vacation and didn't want to spend a lot of it on my laptop. But, OH MY GOD, this story has a little over 700 views which is beyond my wildest dreams. I love each and every one of you who clicks on this book and reads any of the chapters. I know this chapter is pretty short but, 49 and 50 should be pretty long. Don't forget to smile, vote, comment, and possibly share.
Love, Kylie<3
