Chapter 49

(A/N) There are a lot of point of view changes in this chapter, so I'm sorry if it's confusing.

Melody's pov

Anna, Christina, and I all arrived at the mall and headed towards the food court. We all got smoothies and found a spot to sit.

"I know this is a sore subject, but since we're all best friends I know we need to talk about it. So how are you feeling about going back there?" Christina asked.

"Um well I know that it sucks and I'm really dreading it but there's not much I can do" I told her.

"Have you tried reasoning with him like explaining how much you really don't want to go back?" Christina carried on.

"Yes but you have to remember he did try and pretend that he was dead so he wouldn't have to face his resentful wife. Which means there probably isn't any sympathy left in the man" I complained.

"I'm sorry I just wanted to make sure there was no way to keep you from leaving" Christina apologized.

"I know it's just so frustrating. Through everything that has happened, it's like the icing on the top of it all. But this is one of my last days so let's just forget about it for a minute and enjoy this" I told them.

"One last thing before we end this conversation" Anna started to say "If you were able to stay in LA would you still be broken up with Dani?"

"I don't know, probably. I'm just something negative in his life"

"Melody other then his band you are one of the best things in his life. He misses and loves you so much" Anna claimed.

"Funny way of showing it" I mumbled.

"He's heartbroken. You broke him!"Anna yelled.

"Anna just stop. You know why it had to end. Even if I could get over that, we won't work either way. So please stop defending him!" I replied.

"He's my brother, of course I am going to defend him"

"Guys let's stop arguing" Christina interjected.

"I'm sorry Mel we just are all having a hard time getting used to the fact that you're leaving" Anna said.

"It's ok Anna, it's hard for me too. How about we go to bath and body works?" I asked them.

"Sounds good to me" Christina answered.

"Me too" Anna said.

We walked to Bath and Body Works and shopped for a little bit. Then we decided to explore the other stores.

Dani's pov

When Anna left I stayed in my bedroom for the next hour and then went downstairs. The only one that was down there was Jack and he was working on his laptop in the kitchen.
"Listen dude, I'm sorry for storming out on you earlier" I apologized to Jack.

"Breakups are hard, I get it" he responded.

"How was she" I hoped he'd understand who 'she' was.

"She seemed ok. She was obviously upset because this is her last trip to LA for awhile but she seemed to be holding up ok. Her, Christina, and Anna all went to the mall. Jonah, Corbyn, and Zach all went to see a movie. I stayed back to work on a few things" Jack explained.

"Ok, I'll be in the living room if you need me" I told him and went to sit on the couch. I pulled out my phone and went on Instagram. I scrolled through countless pictures of celebrities on vacation or what they had for breakfast. I stopped when I saw a picture that Melody posted.
