Melody's pov

It started to get dark out, so I left my room to see if there was any leftover pasta from the night before.

I stopped in the hallway because I overheard Christina on the phone.

"I just feel so bad, Corbyn. She's going through so much and I was just being selfish" she cried.

"You should try talking to her again" he suggested.

"I tried but-"

I cut her off by knocking on the door.

"Hey Christina, can we talk?" I yelled.

"Um yeah" she replied "Corbyn I'll call you back"

I walked in as she was rubbing the tears off her face.

"Melody, you have no idea how sorry I am"

"Christina you are not the one who should be apologizing. You were just upset that I'm leaving, and I completely understand. But you have to understand that me going back to Portland is my and only my decision" I said.

"I just really don't want you to go. Although I have Corbyn, he's in a band so it gets really lonely sometimes"

"I'm really sorry Christina, but I don't want to spend whatever time we have left fighting"

"Me either"

"Do you want to just eat some pasta and watch a movie?" I asked.

"Sure"
"Ok how about I go get the pasta and you pick a movie for us to watch on this TV" I said pointing at the TV in Corbyn and Christina's room.

"Ok, what movie?"

"I trust you to find a good one" I said walking downstairs.

I got out the pasta and put it into the microwave.

There was thirty seconds left when a pair of muscular arms wrapped around me. I looked back for a second and recognized the man to be Andy, also known as my mother's accomplice.

"CHRISTINA!" I screamed before he clamped his hand around my mouth.

She ran to the top of the stairs, but my mother came up from behind her and pushed her down the stairs. She tumbled all the way to the bottom, where she hit her head on the floor. She was out cold and a pool of blood started to form underneath her head.

I struggled to get out of his grip, but he was too strong.

Eventually my mother came down the stairs, stepping over Christina.

"I will always find you, sweetheart. You can't escape me" she laughed.

"Alright, let's go" she commanded.

Andy picked me up and brought to a black van outside. He tied me hands and legs as well as putting tape over my mouth. My mother got in the passenger side and I could see that Andy went back into the house.

He threw Christina's limp body in the car. I started to inch closer to her, but Andy grabbed the back of my head and punched me hard enough to knock me out.

*************

When I opened my eyes, my vision was blurred. I had a pounding headache and I couldn't recognize my surroundings. Then the memories flooded in.

The room I was in had only one small window and the floor and walls were both made out of wood. Judging by how much sunlight was in the room, it seemed to be early morning. As I was looking around the room I saw Christina. She was lying about 10 feet away from me. She wasn't bleeding anymore, but she was extremely pale. I fighted to get over to her but I was tied to a cement pole.

"Good morning my dear" my mom said coming in the room "How'd you sleep?"

All I could do was scowl at her.

"So, you may be thinking that it is only a matter of time before your boyfriend comes to save you. But you are wrong. This time there are no unstable ex girlfriends to jeopardize this. We are also in a quite remote place, as in the nearest main road is 13 miles away. So, good luck escaping now"
