Chapter 26

Melody's pov

"God, why won't your damn phone stop ringing!" Lili yelled.

I cried even harder knowing that it was Dani calling. On the seventh time it had rung while she was in the room, she answered it.

"What!" she yelled into the phone "Oh... hi Dani"

Dani's pov

It was the next morning and the boys, Christina, and I we're all rushing out the door to get to the police station.

We got there and placed the report. The officers told us that they are going to get on the case right away.

We went back to the house and decided to just hang around the house for the rest of the day. I went outside to call Mel again with the little hope I had.

Call 1: no answer

Call 2: no answer

Call 3: no answer

Call 4: no answer

Call 5: no answer

Call 6: no answer

Call 7: ...

"What!" a female voice yelled.

"Lili?" I asked.

"Oh... hi Dani"

"Why do you have Melody's phone?"

"Forget about her, so I really miss you-"

"Where's Melody?"

"Nowhere. It's just you and me, talking on the phone, just like old times"

"Lili answer my question"

"She's getting what she deserves!" Lili yelled.

"What does that mean"

"That means she's getting the consequences of her actions"

"But she hasn't done anything"

"Oh really? She broke us up, killed her father, and ruins everyone's lives that she meets."

"I broke us up Lili not her. Her father was killed in a car accident, keyword accident. Melody is a good person and you know it. Whatever you are doing to her can be stopped now before things get really bad"

"But I can't" Lili said starting to cry "I'm in way too deep, I'll be arrested"

"Lili no police officers have to be involved if you just tell me where Melody is"

"Dani I don't think I-"

"Please, Lili, if you do this for me no one will ever know you were involved"

"Dani, I just really miss you"

"I know Lili, if you tell me where she is maybe one time we can hang out or something"

"Like a date" she sniffled.

"Lili I-"

"No I get it you love her, not me. Just know, Dani, that I will love you forever even when she breaks your heart."

"Lili, I'm so sorry we ended the way we did but I don't think we were meant to be. This situation right now is not about who I love or who I don't. It's about one person's well-being, so please be the good person I know you are"

"Fine, we're at 15 Paradise Cove Rd. in Malibu. There is a door on the right side of the house that leads into the basement, take that one" she cried "And Dani I'm sorry"
