"Sorry, sir, but this isn't a 'day care'. You'll have to stay here with the other parents." Mrs. Walker points over to the seating area. The class is an hour and a half, no way am I going to sit there for that long. I sigh and nodded not wanting to start anything.

"Madison, this is Amy; she's going to lead you to the locker rooms where you'll change into your uniform. Also known as your tutu." Mrs. Walker focuses her attention beck to Madison. I walked over to the seats.

"Daddy, can we go to the park with Becca? Becca and her dads are going!" Madison comes up to me with a girl, maybe a year or so older than her. Strawberry blond hair, brown eyes, freckles, and rosy cheeks. I hesitated but the lack of time I've been spending with Madison made me answer her with a yes.

-

I watched as Madison climbed the stairs that lead to the slide, it looked as if her foot slipped on a step which made me cringe but after realizing that she didn't I let out a relieved sigh.

"That scared me, too. It looked as if her foot slipped." one of Becca' s dads, Ryan; said.

"Those stairs hurt." He added.

"Trust me, I know. I was once chasing her up the stairs and hit my knees on of those. Never again am I going up those again." I chuckled earning a soft laugh from Ryan.

"So, how long have you and Brandon been married?" I asked.

"About a solid two years. We adopted Becca last year when she was four." Ryan replied smiling.

"Becca and Madison have a thing in common then, both are adopted." I said.

"You adopted Madison? I'm not sure if I'm crazy or something, but I see a few things that you have in Madison. Eyes, not sure about the hair, and a bit of the nose. I don't know, maybe I need new glasses." Ryan pointed out. He took off his glasses and cleaned them with the hem of his shirt.

"Anyways, what about you? Who are you dating? Or married to?" Ryan asked pushing his glasses up with his index finger.

"Well, I used to date a woman named Danielle but things got a bit complicated. She's part of the reason why I adopted Madison, I thought we would be a family but I was wrong." I said shrugging.

"Oh, sorry. Let's change the subject, yeah?" Ryan smiled.

"Sure." I agreed.

"I'm back, I couldn't find the car at first." Brandon sat aside his husband.

"What'd I miss?" he asked.

"Nothing, we were just talking about the kids and relationships." Ryan replied.

"Oh."

--

"Becca said she likes my hair, but I want her hair." Madison said sitting up on the booster seat they had set out.

"Why do you want her hair? You're perfect just the way you are." I said not glancing up from the menu.

"Do you want chicken tenders?" I asked.

"No, I want hambooger." Madison said kicking against the booth.

"What else?"

"Fries and pop- pop." Madison replied.

"How about water." I said setting down the menu. Madison licked her lips and shook her head.

"No, pop- pop." Madison argued.

I looked at her. "Water." I sternly said.

"Pop- pop."

I took a deep breath and nodded. "Pop- pop it is then." I mumbled. She grinned and sat properly.

"Daddy, look, Sophia." Madison pointed at the entrance were, indeed, Sophia was.

What is she doing here?

"Hey guys." Sophia smiled sitting next to Madison.

"The internet is really fast with things. I decided to drop by and see how you guys are doing." Sophia said.

I nodded but not to be mean, I wanted Madison and I to bond more. Hopefully she doesn't do anything to make Sophia stay.

"Eat with us, Sophia." Madison grinned grabbing the menu and giving it to her. I did a mental face palm as Sophia happily took it from her and scanned through it.
