Following his footsteps ( Inuyasha fanfiction)

The newcomer

Hi guys! Sorry for not updating but I have been busy with exams and stuff. Hope u enjoy this chapter!

Sesshomarru stalked down the hall with Inuyasha still wrapped up in his tail "Let go of me!" Inuyasha yelled, kicking as hard as he could before he felt a hand clasp the back of his shirt and lift him and for the second time came eye to eye with his older brother. "What were my orders?" the daiyokai questioned tightening his grip on the white shirt "umm...to go back to bed?" came the answer Sesshomaru narrowed his golden eyes 'I am glad to hear your ears and your memory function work, however, your understanding seems to be lacking.'" Sesshomaru said dragging the little hanyou towards his chamber.

Sesshomaru threw the startled hanyou onto the his bed before turning away "You shall remain in this room until I return, do not disappoint me this time, Inuyasha" Sesshomaru said before slaming the door enough to break it. "So unfair!" Inuyasha muttered missing the sound of a soft chuckle that came from outside.

Next morning....

"You missed a spot" Sesshomaru said pointing to a pile of leaves that were next to his feet. It was early morning, the castle was busy as ever with servants scurrying about , Sesshomaru was sitting on a garden bench his mokomoko draping over the edge as he watched the little hanyou sweep. Sesshomaru had a hard time wondering what kind of punishment to give, he then decided 'sweeping the garden' wouldn't be that bad for Inuyasha. Besides, it's an easy, simple task.

Inuyasha shot him a glare before dragging the broom across the ground, sending the dirt into the air "There" Inuyasha said after sweeping the leaves away into the garden's bed, the hanyou let the broom fall to the ground with a clank, Sesshomaru smiled "Oh, your not finished yet, little brother" Sesshomaru said chuckling at Inuyasha's stubbornness "You have to complete your punishment" Inuyasha folded his arms, resting them on his chest

"What did I do?" the hanyou replied

"You disobey a simple order"

"Oh..."

"LORD SESSHOMARU!" A high, feminine voice cried out from somewhere. The two brothers looked around trying to find the owner of the voice when a young girl with brown ringlets and blue eyes dashed out from the shadows followed by a tall man who had a pleased look on his face, the man walked pass Inuyasha completely ignoring him "Good morning milord, are you enjoying the fresh air of-" the man was cut off by a growl "Why are you here?" Sesshomaru demanded in his icy voice, a disapproved look on his face clearly showing that he was irritated the girl bowed "Simply taking a walk" she chirped like a bird then her eyes drifted to Inuyasha who was now silently brushing away the remaining dirt and leaves that could be seen "Who are you?" the girl inquired, tilting her head to side.

"That is a irrelevant question" Sesshomaru interrupted briefly standing up, shooting daggers at the girl who was quite intrigued at Inuyasha. Then Katio appeared "Good morning Lord Sesshomaru and morning to you too, little master" Katio said slightly looking at the hanyou then back to Sesshomaru not noticing the girl frowning at that greeting "We found a man this morning during the patrols, he was just wandering around which I find very..umm...peculiar, if it's ok with you milord he wants to see you" Katio finished, Sesshomaru sighed. "Very well then" the Western lord said gliding smoothly across the garden's ground "Is he not coming?" Katio questioned pointing at Inuyasha Sesshomaru shook his head "No, he has unfinished jobs to attend to" was the final answer before Sesshomaru disappeared into the castle.

Third person's POV

The beautiful pattern on the wall and cerise carpet was absolutely stunning. The castle was truly breath-taking, I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the loud sound of voices approaching , soon enough the prince of the western lands came elegantly gliding in, he looked like a angel from heaven "What is your purpose here?" His voice held no emotion or feelings sending shivers up my spine "Umm..I was wondering if you had a boy staying with you..." I stammered, adjusting my kimono. The lord's face was still blank "Why would you ask such a stupid question?" he scoffed "My friend died a few weeks ago, she had a child" I continued, "Do you know this child's appearance?" Sesshomaru asked in his bored tone I shook my head "Then, I can not help you, you have now just wasted my breath and time answering your phatheic questions" Sesshomaru snarled making me flinched.

"Sesshomaru! I've finished!" A white haired boy, a smaller version of the Prince came barging in before coming to a halt. He turned to look at me, a strange look on his face "You... smell like my mother" the boy said moving closer I gasped at that remark "Was your mother Lady Izayoi?" I could feel my heart pounding in my ears, there was a moment of hesitation before the boy slowly nodded "How do you know her?" I smiled.

"No need to worry, I was a very close friend to your mother, I have come to take you back to my village".
