"Greetings Lord Sesshomaru." The yokai council rose showing full respect for the Prince of the Western lands as he entered the room. The daiyokai acknowledged the council before sitting down at the far end of the table. Suddenly, the sound of a door opened and a skinny boy carrying a tray full of different treats slowly walked in, his head lowered. "Move faster boy," Sesshomaru said; his cold voice echoing throughout the big hall. The boy looked up. "Yes, milord," he repiled in a small voice. A female bird yokai observed with inquisitiveness. "Pardon me, may I ask who this boy is?" Lord Kekio inquired. Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes. "His name Taskeshi" he said, answering Lord Kekio's question. She nodded in affirmation. "I got him from a human village," Sesshomaru continued coldly. A loud clank made the two lords turn to see the tray turned over and the treats spread out across the floor. "He lacked in experience," an unfamiliar lord snapped angrily.

Sesshomaru had a impassive look on his face. "I'm planning to send him back to his village" "NO!" A desperate cry rang out, and everyone turned to see the boy on his knees. "Please...don't send me back or my father will surely beat me!" Taskeshi begged, making Lord Kekio smile. "Don't cry young man, you can become my servant!" She looked at Sesshomaru calmly. "Can I have your permission?" Sesshomaru, who was secretly glad to get rid of the bothersome boy answered, "I will gladly hand him over to your care, Lord Kekio." "Thank you," she bowed then motioned for the boy to follow. "I'll be back shortly," she said to the council before disappearing along with Taskeshi.

"Milord, a few days ago the Lord of the Southern lands demanded that you give half of your lands to him for that what your father had promise" the council leader quietly adding in his head "Before his demise". Sesshomaru scoffed "Who does he take me for? My father is gone. I, Sesshomaru don't take orders from others" Sesshomaru laughed bitterly sending shivers down the members of the council "Tell him to come here and we'll discuss this matter in person" looking at the council's faces Sesshomaru knew they had gotten his point, he swiftly turned around and walked out "Please reconsider! Lord Sesshomaru!" "WAIT!"a female inu called out but Sesshomaru was already halfway down the hall "You better catch up to him" a male bear yokai said, she wasted no time and ran out of the room leaving a bear yokai smirking.

The female inuyokai was called Maaya, she too had white hair and a purple moon mark on her forehead and she had a huge crush on Sesshomaru. Maaya dashed down the hall of the Western castle, determine to catch up with the Prince 'He might be in his study' she thought but she came to a sudden halt when she saw him standing infront of a door "Lord Sess-" she stopped in mid-sentence when the door flung open and a smaller version of the prince came running out and jumped into his arms. With her special hearing, she was able to hear every word the Prince and boy spoke.

Sesshomaru's POV

"How was your meeting?" Inuyasha asked before snuggling into my white kimono, I smiled "It was fine" I answered letting my mask slip "I was pretty bored while you were gone" Inuyasha said I smirked "This Sesshomaru is pleased that you think of him" I said watching Inuyasha roll his eyes "I never said that" he repiled. Rubbing his ear with my fingers I watched Inuyasha close his eyes I quickly shook him "Dont fall alseep little brother, I got something to show you". That was when I heard a gasp and my golden eyes harden when I came upon a female yokai "Show yourself" I growled bringing Inuyasha into an protective embrace, the female yokai brushed some loose strands out of her eye before stepping out. I growled "Maaya".

Maaya's POV

He was holding the boy like he meant something to him. The boy had two triangular pointy shapes poking out of his white hair, I was guessing they were his ears, "So, he's a half-demon" I muttered I watched with jealousy as Sesshomaru shook the boy before muttering something to him. That was when I heard the word "Little brother". I gasped. Sesshomaru had a younger brother?! Since when!? I flinched when I heard a growl and I looked up to see Sesshomaru staring right at me "Come out" he growled bringing his younger brother in to a protective embrace I gulped, brushing the loose strand of my white hair out of my eyes I walked out.

The pair glared at each other for some time before finally Sesshomaru spoke in his icy voice and anger could be seen in his eyes "Are you spying on me?" he inquried Maaya quickly shook her head "No milord, I was looking for you to ask you something" she answered quietly Sesshomaru frowed but he before he could say anything Maaya spoke "Is that half-breed your brother?" she demanded her blue eyes were now narrowed "I don't need to explain anything and how dare you say that word" Sesshomaru repiled angrily but Maaya wasn't going to leave until she got an answer and she didn't flinch under that cold stare "He seem really important to you"she said, a hint of jealousy and bitterness could be detected as she spoke Sesshomaru sighed. "Yes, Inuyasha is my younger brother and the second son to Inu tashio" he admitted Maaya eyes widen "Does...he mean...alot.... to you?" she whispered dreading the answer she was going to get, Sesshomaru golden eyes had darken "He is my responsibility, he means alot to me" Sesshomaru repiled confidently "Sesshomaru...." a small voice made the daiyokai look down "Your awake" he said looking impassionly at the hanyou "Yeah...." Inuyasha repiled the hanyou eyes turned to Maaya who was now on the edge of crying "Who are you?" Inuyasha asked jumping out of Sesshomaru's arms to Sesshomaru disapproval "Maaya, daughter of the lord of the Northern lands, " Maaya repiled smiling slightly at the curious hanyou, she did have to admit the hanyou was very cute and even more cute when his ears twitched "Oh! Well, I'm Inuyasha and that Sess-" "We've already met" Maaya interupted "I thought everyone called you Master Inuyasha, yes?" Maaya said frowning "Nah, Sesshomaru had suggested that but I perfer plain Inuyasha" Inuyasha repiled flashing the princess a smile "Come" Sesshomaru's voice broke the convestation the hanyou turned around, grabbing Sesshomaru's kimono sleeve he waved goodbye to Maaya "I'm sure we'll meet again, right big brother?" Sesshomaru only grunted, Inuyasha smiled at Sesshomaru's response, Maaya watched sadly as the two brothers walked away. She soon left the castle to return to her father's lands.

So, it was Inuyasha who had melted the barrier around the Lord's heart....
