The turquoise waves lapped gently at Inuyasha's bare feet. He looked up, the jagged cliffs loomed over him like giants, their shadow blocking out the sunlight, making Inuyasha shiver wriggling his toes deeper into the soft sand, Inuyasha heard Izayaoi's voice, calling him.
Inuyasha spotted his mother up ahead picking something up from the sand he ran to her "What is it mother?"Inuyasha asked stopping beside Izayaoi. Inuyasha saw a pure glowing light shining through his mother's closed hand he looked at her with his golden eyes full of curiosity.
Izayaoi smiled before opening her hand to reveal a couple of bay white scallops that were glowing intensely like they were alive.
"Wow! Glowing shells!" exclaimed Inuyasha, "These are rare bay scallops that can only be found once every 5 years, some say there are more shells that are as white as snow" explained Inuyasha's mother suddenly an image of a tall young man with the same pure white hair and emotionless golden eyes came into the hanyou's mind.
Inuyasha shook his head, why was that demon lord coming into his mind now?
"Can I make a necklace out of those shells?" Inuyasha asked, he reached out with his tiny hand to pick the scallops up when one of them crumbled he stared at his mother "I didn't even touch it" "Unfortunately, these shells can break easily, let me hold on to them until we get back to the village".
Inuyasha dashed across the forest floor, the sunlight peered through the emerald leaves. Inuyasha was worried that the shell necklace would crumble in his hand any minute but to his relief the shell necklace didn't break.
He finally spotted the demon lord resting underneath a tree. Inuyasha slowed down his pace until he was standing beside the sleeping demon. The young man looked peacefully asleep, Inuyasha thought maybe he should return later, he didn't want to wake demon lord up yet been patient wasn't one of Inuyasha's strength he shook the demon lord's arm. Nothing happened. Now frustrated, Inuyasha aimed to poke the young man on the face when suddenly as fast as lighting the young man's hand shot up and grabbed Inuyasha's wrist. He dug his long clawed nails into Inuyasha's pale skin , Inuyasha whimperd in pain.
Sesshomaru opened his golden eyes . He glared at the young boy with undisguised annoyance . "Show some respect" he growled before releasing Inuyasha's wrist. Inuyasha fell backward sending brown dust into the air "At least you came" said Inuyasha, rubbing his stinging wrist.The demon lord scoffed "I came on my own accords" Sesshomaru turned his head away.
Yes. Children were very bothersome especially this hanyou. Sesshomaru's eyes flickered back to his little brother, to Sesshomaru's disappointment the child was still standing there. "Is there reason you came?" Sesshomaru finally asked in an indifferent tone. The child nodded before slipping his hand into his red kimono bringing out something that caught the light.
"Here, I made this, even tho you don't deserves it" Inuyasha sat down, dropping the bright shell necklace into the demon lord's palm. Sesshomaru was taken back and blinked for a few seconds.
No one had ever given him a gift, he watched Inuyasha briefly get up.
"I guess see you tomorrow!" With no hesitation, Inuyasha ran off back to village. Missing the amuse look on the demon lord's face.
Sesshomaru watched Inuyasha disappear into the bushes turing his attention back to mysterious object that was sitting in his palm "Thank you, Inuyasha" whispered Sesshomaru examining the necklace before putting it around his neck.
