Music: Control - Halsey

The Next Day

"Jayde!"

Said hedgehog groaned, her head shifting slightly, only for it to pulse with an aching pain. Her orbs squinted open, still in the bright white room – what in chaos happened? All she remembered was fighting Scourge before he landed a harsh punch across her muzzle which ended with her smacking into the wall, knocking her out. Cheat.

She tried to move, but her body refused to obey her. Azure eyes snapped open, looking down at the ground in confusion. Her arms were bound either side of her head, firming cuffed closely to the wall. Her feet just touched the floor, but another large cuff was wrapped around her waist, preventing her body moving.

She looked around, but nothing had change from the last time she was conscious, "Scourge?"

"Jayde!"

The grey hedgehog followed the noise, ears turning in the direction of the familiar voice before her orbs widened, "Amy?"

Jade eyes looked at her, smiling nervously, "Hey."

The Protector growled, "Ooh, when I get my hands on that measly..." she looked at Amy, checking for any injuries, "Did he hurt you? Cause I swear, if he did-"

"I'm fine, Jayde." Amy smiled at her friend's worry, but brushed it aside, "I guess Sonic was right about me not being able to fight yesterday."

"What?"

"After you left, I still had injuries from Rosy's hammer. Eggman attacked again not long after and Sonic told me not to come because I was injured. Turns out that was Eggman's plan all along." Amy sighed, "What happened to you?"

"Scourge decided to fight me. I was distracted watching the battle in Station Square." Jayde muttered, "Speaking of which – Scourge! Get your sneaky butt here now, you cheat!"

Footsteps followed her yell, but the green male was not alone. Next to his stood her lookalike, twirling the Moebius version of the shard between her fingers, smirking evilly at her twin.

"Looks like you've worn her out, Shades."

"Ha, I could go a few more rounds with your Princess, Jaylee." Jayde answered back, glaring at the two behind the glass. Scourge growled but didn't respond, leaving the Protector to smirk, "What? No comeback?"

"You'll get what's coming for you." He grinned, standing behind the control panel and opening the glass cell door. Jaylee stepped in and it closed behind her, losing all of Jayde's ideas of escape.

"Round two with my faker, is it?" Jayde asked, clenching her fists by her head, "You wanna loosen the chains to make it fair?"

Jaylee smirked, "No, you're going to work with us."

Laughing, Jayde shook her head, "You expect me to work with you after what you did to Shadow? Jog on."

"No, I don't expect you to work with us." Jaylee answered, "You will work with us and you have no choice about it."

"Sorry, but I don't work with the enemy."

"You would work with the enemy, if you were the enemy." Jaylee grinned as a look of fear flashed across Jayde's face at what she was getting at, "See, I've read through all your files, Jayde. It seems you've been keeping a dark secret from us."

"It's not a secret, it's reality." Jayde snapped, "And you can't return it because it's been cleared from my system."

Jaylee chuckled, "Oh, is that what you think?"
