Eggman's Lair

The negative form walked through the hallways and into the main control room, a proud smirk on her muzzle. Torrent rolled his eyes, "Way to make your entrance into the world."

"I already made my entrance." Raven grunted towards him in response. The female didn't really care much for the bat, she didn't see him as much more than those weak Mobians down on the planet. The only ones whom she saw had some kind of strength were Scourge and Jaylee. She knew no one could best her but having two powerful Moebians back her up would give her a boost.

"Ah, Raven, how did it go?" Eggman asked, knowing where she had been.

"Pft, that Guardian was weak."

"And the Master Emerald?"

"Shattered to pieces."

Loud gasps followed her voice at the shock of it all. The Master Emerald was more powerful than anything in the universe, and the only one to have known to break it before was Knuckles.

"You did what?!" Eggman asked, his voice ridden with shock, "Do you know how valuable that rock is to us!"

Raven shrugged, "You've got me, Doc. Deal with it." She answered, "I took what power I needed from the crystal."

Eggman managed to stop himself talking, wanting to yell at her stupidity but knew that would take him to a one-way trip to oblivion. So, he kept his mouth shut, thinking up a new plan almost immediately, "Okay, we can work this to our advantage."

Jaylee glanced to Scourge, one of her ears bent. He gave her a small smile, something that felt very strange... What was she doing to him? He knew that Raven was dangerous, and he also knew that he wanted to rule over the planet as well as his own. But with Jaylee becoming scared, he felt as though he had a new matter to deal with.

A more important one.

He shook his head slightly, Jaylee was just like him. Evil. She would follow his orders because that's what she promised she would do.

Jayde's Home

"Where are you going?"

The oldest sibling of the blue blur watched as the red fox packed up his bag from Jayde's house. Raiden had been around Sonia since the day she got here. They had laughed together, raced against one another, and she had even seen him cry over the thought of Jayde turning into a monster.

That was the day she knew. He lost his 'cool' attitude, and it was replaced with sorrow and sadness, causing Sonia to see a completely different side of him. A side that was vulnerable. She wouldn't ever forget that, just days after the message had come across that Jayde was transformed into her negative form.

The red fox had been hiding in the spare room of Jayde's house. He'd never really cried before, not even when people rejected him when he was younger. But the thought of his closest friend, the one whose parents took him in and raised him as their own, being taken over by something more powerful than all of them combined brought tears to his eyes.

It wasn't until he had left everyone and returned to the grey hedgehog's home that the floodgates unlocked, and it was just an endless stream. Sonia had noticed his absence and went looking for him, being told by Mitzy that he had returned to Jayde's home, and as soon as she saw him, he dropped into her arms, weeping.

It was strange for Sonia to see this male cry. He was usually strong and joking around with everyone, but all that broke because of Raven. It made Sonia angry. Eggman was using Jayde against her friend, causing them pain and Jayde didn't even know what she was doing!

"I need to return home." Raiden stated, "I need to visit the elders."

"The elders?" Sonia inquired.

He sighed a bit before responding, "The elders in our village have been there for millions of years. They look over us, but no one truly knows why they stay." He zipped up his bag and turning to face the hedgehog, "In my younger years, I stumbled across their secret cave, and being the inexperienced rabble I was, went straight in to explore. At first, they yelled and shouted at me, telling me that I didn't belong there, but I only responded by telling them that I had heard all that before." He waved his hand dismissively.

"It's taken years for them to fully trust me, especially since I was a thief. But now, I'm the only one who knows about their secret cave, and I visit them frequently to pay my respects. Sometimes they respond, other times they don't, but I know they are there."

"So, why are you going now? Right when Jayde needs your help?" Sonia asked, walking up to him.

"Because they might be able to help me, help Jayde. They've been around for a while, they must know something about the Shards."

"And if they don't?"

Raiden shrugged, "At least I didn't miss the opportunity."

Sonia looked around Jayde's home. It was small and neat, with pictures framed all around the shelves and walls of her friends, all laughing and happy. She saw some with her brother, Sonic, and the gang, giving each other piggy-backs around the park. There was Amy and Rouge, both seeming to be cheering on the beach over a volleyball net. Another where Knuckles was buried in sand with Jayde laughing next to him, and Cream trying to place a flag on his head.

Then there was one of Jayde and Shadow. Sonia had never seen the ebony male look so happy. It must have been taken in secret for him to smile like that. His glove-less hands held on to Jayde's ankles as she sat on his shoulders, looking down at him and ruffling his quills. Sonia smiled before looking back to Raiden with a firm face, determination written all over it, "I'm coming with you."

The red fox chuckled, "Are you sure Sonic will allow that, your majesty?"

The pink female grinned and crossed her arms, "He won't get a choice. I am older than him, anyway."
