Music: Freaking Me Out - Simple Plan
Mazuri: Savannah Citadel
Sonic stared out at the plains, waiting. He knew Eggman was close because he could sense Jayde's negative energy. It was sickly; a dark, suffocating source that seemed to destroy everything in its path – it made the blue hedgehog feel ill. Emeralds glanced to the pink hedgehog, watching as she helped a few villagers get packed. Sonic had told everyone to clear the surroundings because he already knew that this wasn't going to be a talk. Eggman wasn't going to leave his aircraft and Raven would swooped down to take control of this area.
Sonic couldn't let that happen.
He knew that Jayde wasn't there. Anything he said would be passed through Raven. He smirked slightly; time to put his cocky attitude to good use, and make sure he watched her every move. Knuckles had told him that she attacked out of the blue, so he needed to make sure that he didn't get sidetracked or missed an opportunity. His speed was his only weapon.
Even if it hurt him to have to attack her, Sonic knew that Jayde would tell him to anyway. If she could speak to them, Jayde would've told them to destroy her. But knowing Jayde was still alive in her, the gang couldn't afford that. They had to bring her back.
Sonic tensed as a faint chuckle was heard, causing both Amy and Cream to freeze. The young bunny whimpered and huddled closer to the pink hedgehog as the negative form hovered above, a dark aura surrounding her.
The blue blur looked at Amy, "Get Cream away from here, Amy. She's too young to witness this." Sonic knew that she shouldn't have come anyway. The pink hedgehog nodded, immediately sensing Sonic's sudden change in attitude – it was usually 'Ames', but the tone to her name made her comply his wishes.
Raven floated down until she was in front of the blue blur. A smirk matched his own, and she met his eyes, "Sonic the Hedgehog, the famous blue hero. I've been waiting to meet you."
"Oh, really?" Sonic smirked, "I've been waiting to beat you."
Raven chuckled devilishly, "So much arrogance, and yet they just meet empty words. I almost forgot about your cocky attitude." She grinned, "I'm honored to meet someone who doesn't fear me."
"Am I supposed to feel special?" He asked, "None of us are afraid of you. We know that we can beat you and return Jayde to the way she was before."
Raven's smirk dropped from her face and her eye twitched before answering deadly calm, "You may think you can return me back to her, but even if you did, she wouldn't be the same," the smirk returned, "Would she?" The negative form walked closer, causing the blue hedgehog to clench his fists, readying himself for an attack, "She always feared me, you know. She never mentioned it to anyone except that lovesick hoglet." She spat, "He who sealed me away will be punished."
"You? Punish the Ultimate Lifeform? Get real!" Sonic snickered, "The only thing you'll be punishing is yourself for being weak when we destroy you and save Jayde."
Raven growled angrily, "I'm not weak," she snapped, readying her position, "Jayde is gone!"
She ran forward, Sonic only just being able to register her movement and side stepped, avoiding her attack. Swinging his foot around, he knocked her off guard for only a second before she flew up and fired a row of Riot spears towards him.
Sonic did what he does best and ran, weaving in and out of all the attacks, dodging each one. He ran up a tall tree before jumping from the top, spin dashing directly towards her. Raven ducked before throwing a punch his way, only for him to unroll and dodge. He landed on his feet but didn't waste any time before running at her again.
He needed to keep on his toes. Any hesitation could prove fatal to him. The rose hedgehog stared from afar, wishing she could help her cerulean hero in some way. But she needed to move villagers away from the fight and protect the young bunny – there was nothing she could do other than help Sonic from afar.
The hedgehog unrolled from his second spin dash, quickly bending backwards to avoid an incoming attack. Raven growled, before tapping into Jayde's powers. Sonic clenched his fists, growling slightly – this would make it ten times harder. He breathed lightly, listening to the silence surrounding him before his ear twitched, and he quickly jumped to the side. A fist flew over his form, but he ran directly into another, sending him crashing into a tree.
He quickly reclaimed his stance, watching the female turn invisible once again. He had fought with Jayde before during training, but they never thought to use their power as advantages. Sonic sighed to himself – maybe they should of thought of that.
Raven appeared in front of him before they rolled into a full-blown fist fight. Amy struggled to keep up with their fast forms, watching as they wrestled along the ground. But as soon as hands were wrapped around her hero's neck, she didn't hesitate.
The negative form screeched at the impact of the mallet, sending her flying back. The blue hedgehog coughed, "Get out of here, Amy!" his voice was scratchy as he panted, struggling on all fours. Amy stood over him, her hammer not wavering.
Raven stood to her feet, no sign of any injuries. She grinned to the rose hedgehog, wiping the dirt from her muzzle, "You want to be a hero, Pinky?"
Raven shot towards Amy, but before she could make contact, Sonic pushed the rose female out the way, the swinging foot colliding directly with his stomach, "Sonic!" Amy cried. The negative form swung up his weak form, kicking him twice around the muzzle before landing a harsh punch to his head that sent him crashing to the ground.
Sonic groaned, slumping against the ground; pain seemed to shoot from every part of his body as he sat up. Raven snickered, landing beside the hero, "The famous Sonic the Hedgehog, brought to his knees by one person – what are the chances?"
Sonic gritted his teeth, "I'll never be brought down. Not by you, not by anyone." He stood weakly, glancing to the two females hiding. He met Amy's eyes – a warning concealed within them. Better he was hurt than them.
"Why do you fight, Blue Boy, when you know you will lose?" Raven asked, walking towards him.
"I fight because I know she's still in there," he grinned, clenching his fists, "I fight because Jayde is still in you, and I will continue fighting until we return her."
Raven chuckled, gripping the weak hedgehog's neck quicker than he could react and shot into the sky, "Sonic!" Amy yelled, running forward.
"It's your loyalty to your friends that makes you weak. You put your life on the line to save them, but who saves you?" Raven asked, watching his feeble attempts to remove her hands, "No one."
"My friends strengthen me – we work together to help one another." Sonic managed to speak out, kicking his legs, "And we will bring Jayde back."
Raven snarled, "There is no Jayde! Jayde is gone!" she yelled angrily, throwing the hedgehog away like a stick.
"Mr Sonic!" Cream shouted, flying quickly towards him.
Amy gasped, "Cream, no!"
The negative form saw the young rabbit and shot towards her, readying her fist to teach her a lesson. But her fist was yanked back by a force deep inside her, avoiding the youngster. The rose hedgehog below saw this, eyes widening – Jayde was still there. Raven growled, watching as Cream grabbed the unconscious male just before he hit the ground. Why couldn't she hit the rabbit? She was weak! Fists clenched, Raven flew off, not saying anything else.
"Cream, you stupid girl! Are you okay?" Amy asked, helping her place an unconscious Sonic in the plane before pulling her into a tight hug. She looked towards the sky, watching as the negative form flew away and sighed, "Oh, Jayde..."
