Tails' Workshop

"According to the trackers, Tails and Cleobella have arrived at Mystic Ruins. Sonic, Amy and Cream are almost at their destination, just ahead of Eggman." Wave reported, looking on the screen but no one responded.

Mitzy had sat by herself on the sofa, contemplating whether she could believe that Jayde had done that to the red echidna. She didn't move from her position, not even to say goodbye to Raiden when he left with Sonia earlier. The young rabbit couldn't pretend that what was happening wasn't real, because the proof was lying asleep in front of her.

After Sonic and the girls left, Rouge insisted Knuckles got some rest. Though he said he needed to go to Angel Island, the ivory bat refused to let him leave. She knew Knuckles needed to fix what Jayde had broke, but he would wear himself out again. Rouge still didn't leave his side, holding his hand as she watched him rest.

Shadow couldn't bare it.

Seeing Knuckles and Rouge like that only reminded him of what was happening to Jayde. And there was nothing he could do. He thought about facing her himself, taking on all the Moebians with it, but he knew she would not fall. As much of a kick to his ego it was, he knew he couldn't defeat her alone.

This was not Jayde. This was Raven. She was a beast trapped inside the grey hedgehog, who had been forced forward by the Moebius lookalikes. But that only reminded Shadow of what Jaylee looked like. She looked guilty. When she turned back around to look at Shadow in Glyphic Kingdom, the guilt was clear as day on her face.

Glyphic Kingdom...

It was a secretive place that Jayde went to during her 'runaway'. Shadow hadn't known anything about it, and he didn't know anything about Randall either. Thinking this, he looked at the male, watching as he stared at nothing. The Ultimate Lifeform gritted his teeth, how did he know Jayde? Apart from the time he strapped the inhibitor collar around Torrent's neck, he had no correlation of when Jayde had mentioned him.

The hooded one could feel an intense stare, and he looked up to see Shadow glaring at him. Shine chuckled internally – of course, he doesn't trust me. The cloaked male stood up and walked past the hedgehog and to the outside, knowing that he would follow him.

"How do you know Jayde?" the voice asked, making Shine smile slightly.

"She helped me rescue my younger brother." He answered, grimacing at the memory that has caused him long term pain.

"So, why are you helping us now?" Shadow asked, still glaring at the male, not trusting him.

"I'm returning the favor."

Glyphic Kingdom – Three years ago...

"Your brother is on the bottom floor." Jayde whispered, glancing around the halls, "There's guards in front of us, and on each level – how do you expect us to get through?"

The two Mobians had not completely thought this whole process through, but they ran in at the first chance they got. Without hesitation, everything seemed to work better. The male simply smirked at Jayde's concern, handing her a face mask.

"Put this on." He spoke, before throwing two cans around the corner.

"You have these... how?" Jayde asked, lowering an eyelid.

Shine placed a finger to his lips and chuckled, "I have a friend or two." The cans let out smoke, and after being inhaled by the guards, knocked them out, giving way to a clear path, "Since when do you have friends, Randy?" Jayde snickered.
