.......I know. It's been like what? A month? **shrug** Sorry. Ha.....ha.....ha? Here's the chapter!

I open my eyes and everything's smudgy. Through my blurry vision I see someone bending over me.
"Dad?" I ask. My throat is so dry!
"Your an idiot." Someone says. I blink again, but my vision is still blurry. I try again but no improvement.
"Luci?" I ask. What is Lieutenant Rayes doing here? Luci laughs. She sounds hysterical.
"Yeah, it's me. We all got captured by the Taliban. Your dad is somewhere over in that direction." Luci points her hand in a direction, but I can barely see the outline of her arm.
"Well are you gonna go say hi or not?" She snaps. I narrow my eyes at her, seeing if that'll help me see her better. Nope! "I c-can't see anything, well, hardly anything." I mutter. Luci's voice softens.
'Oh. I'm sorry!" She says and grabs my arm. "Stand up." She instructs and she leads me across the room (I think) before walking over to a person sitting on a bunk. I sit down and Luci pats my arm and then the outline of her figure disappears as she walks away.
"Can you see, Madds?" My dad whispers. I shake my head back and forth. "I think I'm going blind." I say. My dad laughs and leans over the bunk. He pulls up something heavy. Dad stands up in front of me and swings his arm. Cold water splashes on my face and I yelp. Some of the water gets into my eyes and it stings like crazy.
"What was that for?" I yell at him. I start blinking rapidly to get the water out of my eyes. My vision clears.
"Thank you!" I throw my arms around my dad. I sigh, it's a happy sigh. It's the first time I've hugged him. It feels weird, but nice. We stand there hugging. I hear a metal door slide and my dad pushes me away from him. I fall on the cold ground and my head hits the concrete.
I'm about to swear at him, but I look around me first. We are in a big cave with a metal door keeping us from the Taliban. But it's not just me, dad, and Luci. There's some people from my troop and from Luci's. I look at my dad. He's standing up straight. He's really tall. Luci comes over to me and whispers in my ear.
"Do exactly as I say. You don't want to get them mad."
"Who?" I say louder than I should. Luci grabs my arm and yanks me up off the ground. Right in front of the metal door is the Taliban. Fully equiped with guns.
"Oh." I breathe. I watch the Taliban. What looks like the leader puts some bullets in his gun. He looks up and around at all of us in the cave.
"Who dies first?" He laughs. I look at him blankly. His eyes drift over everyone in the room. His eyes rest on me and he slowly walks over to me, his boots clacking on the concrete.
"You." He says and he's 15 feet from me.
10.
5.
3 feet.
My dad steps in front of the leader and grabs his trigger arm.
"No." My dad chokes out. He looks scared.
The Taliban looks at my dad and jerks his arm from his grip. The leader starts walking over to me again, but my dad grabs his shoulder and pushes the man back. My dad's fists hit the Taliban. Punching over and over again. The Taliban just stands there. Taking punch after punch. Only blinking when my dad's knuckles hit him. The Taliban turns to his comrads and says, "Now."
Another Taliban loads his gun and cocks it in place. He aims it on my dad before pulling the trigger.
My dad falls on the ground in front of the Taliban leader; He smirks and I want to punch him, but I'd be more effective than my dad. I rush over to my dad's body. The Taliban kicks me away from my dad.
"You bitch!" I yell at him. I punch his shin and then turn to my dad. Blood is slowly dripping from his mouth and his hands cover the bullet in his stomach.
"Don't die, Dad. Stay with me!" I shout at my dad. I grab his face and turn it towards me.
"You hear me?! Don't leave me!" I gently slap his face. My tears drop onto his face. My dad's eyes flutter open. "Madds." He whispers. He says it so quietly I can barely hear him.
"Stay with me!" I shout at him. My dad's eyes start rolling into the back of his head. I feel his blood pool around my knees.
"No!" I yell at him. His eyes roll back a bit and they focus on me. I can already see his eyes start to cloud over.
The Taliban Leader grabs me around the waist and pulls me away from my dad and towards the other Taliban's.
"No!" I repeat. I kick and bite at the leader, but there's no way he's gonna let go of me. I desperately look at Luci, but she just looks at my dad with sorrow.
"God dammit, look at me, Luci!" I scream at her, but she shakes her head sadly, not even moving her gaze from my dad. My dad rolls his head to look at me. He mouthes, "Goodbye."
"I love you!" I scream to him. Please let him hear. Please let him hear! I beg. My dad gives a small smile before his eyes cloud over.
