Karoline stared out the window of the motel room, chewing on her thumbnail nervously as she waited for Samuel to get here. Dean had disappeared half an hour ago, out the bathroom window, and there was no sign of him anywhere. Which is what really worried her. She knew that Vampire's had urges, ones that were hard control and she couldn't imagine what Dean was going through in that moment. Headlights lit up the room as the engine rumbled through the ground.
"That's Samuel." Sam got up off the bed, hurrying out to go meet up with the older hunter that drove all night to reach them.
"He's still not answering." Alayna spoke up and Karoline turned to see her frowning at her phone.
"It's going to be fine," Karoline told her, and Alayna's big brown eyes snapped up to her. And it was then that Karoline could see how truly worried she was. "We're going to find him and we'll figure it out from there."
"Can't keep track of your brother now?" The door was thrown open and Samuel's voice fluttered to them, as he and Sam brought in his duffel bags.
"Well I didn't think he'd just..."
"He's not himself, Sam." Samuel droped the bag heavily onto the bed, turning hard eyes on the taller boy. "He's a monster and he's hungry. You gotta be prepared to do the right thing."
"I told you he'd kill me when he showed up." A voice said suddenly, and they all jerked around to see Dean come out from his hiding spot in the kitchen, squinting at the light.
Alayna took a slight step forward, her eyes wide, "Where did you go?"
"Did you feed?" Samuel asked over her, his voice meaning business.
Dean ignored her, green eyes boring into Alayna's big, brown ones, "I had to go clear my head. Which, for the record, was a lousy idea."
"Dean, answer the question." Samuel snapped.
"You can relax, I didn't drink anyone." Dean told him.
"Thank god."
"But I came close." Dean slipped off his jacket, his green eyes hard and cold as he met Samuel's. He was ready. He knew what had to be done. "All right, do it."
"Dean..." Alayna's voice trailed off when Karoline grabbed her arm, stopping her from crossing over to Dean. Alayna turned back to Karoline with big eyes, was she really just going to let this happen?
"Okay, if you insist..." Samuel shrugged, his machete in hand. He moved slowly, his Hazel eyes watching Dean carefully as he raised the knife until the tip of the blade brushed his jaw. "Or I can just turn you back."
"What?" Dean looked at him shocked and the girls were quick to echo his shock.
Samuel looked back at them briefly, dropping the knife to his side. "I didn't drive all this way to kill you Dean. I'm here to save you." He told him sincerely and Dean stared at him like he was crazy. A cure for vampirism? There was no such thing.
"How would you do that?" Karoline asked, her hand tightening on Alayna's wrist in hope.
Samuel simply tossed her a quick look, turning to the table to pull his duffel bag closer. They all gathered around, taking a seat at the table as he pulled out a leather bound journal. "The Cure is an Old Campbell recipe," he flipped it open to a bookmarked page, sliding it across the table top to the green eyed hunter. "No one's tried it since, God knows. But, I got to warn you... this stuffs a bad trip."
"Awesome." Dean muttered.
"Hey, the cure is good." Samuel assured him, his arms crossed tightly across his chest. "But a lot of this is on you. You drink, you're done. It won't work. I'm talking one drop of human blood..."
