Karoline made her way downstairs to the basement with another beer for Dean like he asked - well, originally he asked Alayna since she was the one down here with him but then Jackson woke up from his nap leaving the younger Van Allen a little preoccupied.
"Meaning?" Bobby was asking when she made her way downstairs.
"Meaning I just had myself a little mishap a few minutes ago, and, uh, well, here. Look." Dean scooped up a small amount of the phoenix ash an rubbed it on his arm.
"Whoa." Sam tipped his head in confusion while Bobby grunted in surprise as well.
"I mean, this stuff is suppose to burn the bejeezus out of Eve. Doesn't even give me a sunburn." Dean wiped the rest of the ash off on his jeans and accepted the beer Karoline cracked open and held out to him.
"Lore says it works," Bobby countered.
"That's always reliable," Dean muttered. He picked up a white rag and wiped off his arm before turning back to his work. He glanced over at the blonde, "where's Alayna?"
"Feeding Jackson." She told him simply and he nodded, passing a glance up at the stairs. He wanted to go up their too but he was kind of in the middle of packing some Phoenix Ash rounds. "Maybe it's like Silver or Iron, you know?" She suggested after a silent moment. "Hurts them, not us?"
"Maybe," Dean reluctantly conceded, "but a fat lot of good it does until we find this bitch."
"I'm looking, but I'm thinking that maybe it's time to make the call." Sam and Bobby both looked down at Dean, and Karoline raised an eyebrow - smirking at the fact they asked Dean and not her.
"Why does it always have to be me that makes the call, huh?" Dean stood up defensively. "What about Karoline?" He gestured to the blonde who raised her hands in defense, sinking into the chair Dean was once sitting in. "He spoils her remember?" Karoline narrowed her eyes at him for bringing up the argument she had with Aurora not even a week ago.
"Would you rather I ignore her?" His deep voice came from behind her suddenly and the blonde jumped, turning halfway in her seat to look up at him. Yet, his attention remained glued on Dean, his eyes narrowed slightly.
She frowned, but didn't question it, "Hey, Cassy." She reached up to play with his tie, tilting her head back to smile up at him.
"Hello, Karoline." His eyes turned to the other three hunters in the room. "Have you made any progress on Eve?"
"Well we were just about to ask you that," Bobby huffed.
The Angel shook his head. "No, I've looked, but she's hidden from me. She's hidden from all angels."
"Awesome." Dean huffed in annoyance, sharing a quick look with Karoline.
"You know," Sam said slowly, "what we really need is an inside man. Or woman."
Karoline frowned at that, glancing over at the tall Winchester, "What do you mean?"
"Someone who's been around a long time," Sam crossed his arms, his eyes darting between Karoline and Dean as he waited for one of them to get it. "Could probably track her down pretty fast. Someone who's had a hate on for all types of monsters for three centuries now."
"Dude, no!" Dean shot down the idea immediately as soon as he caught on to what his brother was implying. "We are not calling her." Sam simply shot him a pointed look and Dean sighed. "Why would she even want to help us?"
"Maybe because we helped her accomplish something she'd been trying to do for centuries," Sam threw his arm out to the side. "Maybe, because she owes us."
