Dean woke up to the sound of his phone vibrating against the desk. He groaned softly, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as the nights events came rushing back to him. He looked around for the blonde Angel - only for her to be no where in sight. "What the-" he broke off as his phone let out another series of buzzes. Rolling over, he scooped it off the dresser and answered it after checking the caller ID.
Alayna.
"What?" He asked, his voice rough with sleep.
"Hey, I called you 10 times last night," she told him something he was well aware of. "Did you even come home last night? We need to talk."
"Sorry, I've been busy." He shrugged unapologetically, sitting up on the edge of his bed and searching with his eyes for his jeans.
She let out a light scoff, "if you're still mad at me Dean, you need to get over it."
"Oh, I'm over it." Was the only response he gave before he hung up. With a heavy sigh, he got up out of bed and pulled on his jeans that he found discarded on the ground.
"Ouch," he turned halfway to see the blonde Angel standing in the threshold between the bathroom and the bedroom. She was wearing her clothes from the night before and her hair was in disarray. Sex hair. "Quite the tough love act. Trouble in paradise?"
Dean simply shrugged, crossing the room to her slowly, "you don't have to pretend like you care. If you wanted more sex, all you had to do was ask."
She smacked the hand he reached up to push her hair out of her face - away. "Pass. Let's just not make a big deal out of this." She stepped around him to head for the door and he turned to watch her walk away with a smirk.
"Oh, come on, the sex was too good for you to be this bitter." She rolled her eyes again only for his smirk to widen as he reached forward to open the door for her. What he wasn't counting on, was the fact that Alayna was standing right there - probably coming to check if he actually came back last night.
She froze in the doorway, her eyebrows furrowed as her eyes darted between the pair. From the fact that they were both wearing their clothes from the day before, and the fact that Dean was shirtless and Aurora's hair, at the moment, was the actual definition of sex hair - it wasn't that hard to figure out what had happened.
Shock. Anger. Betrayal. And even a little jealousy passed through Alayna all at once, making it impossible for her to find her voice.
"I'll take that as my cue." Aurora sent a small smirk Alayna's way before disappearing with a flutter of wings.
"Why couldn't you have done that ten seconds earlier." Dean whispered to himself, letting his eyes fall closed as he leaned forward to press his forehead against the cold wood of the door.
"What is wrong with you?" Alayna finally spoke up - the judgement clear in her tone and the way she narrowed her eyes at him. "She's tried to kill Karoline and I, multiple times. Or did you just forget that?"
"Can't we just move past all that, Alayna," he said tiredly and Alayna nearly gaped at him.
She threw her arms out to the side in exasperation, turning to watch him walk away when he stepped around her to head down the hallway. "Is this how it's going to be now? I hurt your feelings, and this is how you lash out at me?"
"Well, maybe, for once, something I did had nothing to do with you." He smiled sarcastically at her, and she simply tossed him a look that said they both knew that wasn't true.
Alayna didn't say anything, though, instead she changed the subject. "You should get dressed. Sam's taking us down to the Campbell Compound to see if there's anything there that'll help us find a way to stop Eve."
