Luke and I pulled into my driveway after the short drive home from the restaurant. After the run in with Calum I just want to be as far possible way from where he was. I had hoped Luke's entire visit would be Calum free but sadly I guess it was just unavoidable. Calum seemed to be everywhere I was anymore. Its like it's his plan to scare off everyone I was with. Luckily, Luke didn't seem bothered by it but it didn't stop me from apologizing the entire drive home.
"Luke I'm so sorry," I was still saying as we walked up to my front door.
"You have no reason to apologize. He was wrong for what he said and I told you I would handle him if I was ever to come here. Well I'm here and I'm going to give him what he deserves." Luke gave me a smile and it made me smile in return. "I'll always stand up for you. You're an amazing and fun person and he's just jealous that you don't want to share that with him anymore."
"Luke," I said trying to hide my blushing cheeks by turning to unlock and open the door for us to go inside. "You're really sweet to say all that but please just lay low with Calum. I would never forgive myself if he ever went too far and hurt you. I don't know what he's capable of anymore."
"Calum is all talk. He's just trying to intimidate me and it's not working," Luke assured me in the dark front entry way. The lights were off meaning my parents had already retired to their room for the night.
I flip the lamp switch on so we wouldn't trip as we took the stairs. Luke asked to shower as we made it to the top and I walk with him to the bathroom. I point out the towels and everything he might need before showing him how to work the facets. The darn things were tricky and sensitive. One light nudge in the wrong direction could having you freezing your ass off or feeling like you just made a trip to hell.
Luke and I walked out of the bathroom. He went to get a change of clothes for after his shower and I go into my room.
I dug my phone out of my pocket before sitting at my desk. This was the first time since Luke walked through the front door that I had my phone in hand.I unlock my screen to find handfuls of notifications and messages from Paisley and Riley. Most of them questions about whether or not Luke arrived. I finally replied back to them apologizing for not answering sooner. I then typed out an explanation of what happened at the restaurant.
Riley: I swear Calum needs to just get punched. He's being ridiculous. If Luke doesn't I'm going to do it myself.
Paisley: So is Luke everything you thought he'd be? Is he hot like his picture?
Riley: Of course all Paisley cares about is how he looks. You got your teacher friend let Quinn have the damn Aussie you hoe.
Quinn: I don't know what will happen if Luke runs into Calum again. It honestly makes me nervous. And yes. Luke is everything and more of what I thought he'd be. Looks and all but it doesn't matter. We're friends. Just friends.
Riley: Im taking bets y'all gonna fuck before he leaves.
Paisley: Nah, they'll kiss but Quinn won't go that far.
Quinn: I'm so done with you guys.
"Quinn?" I heard Luke voice from the door way of my room. He stood in a white T-shirt and pajama pants. His hair still wet. "I was just letting you know I'm out of the shower."
I put my phone down on the desk. "So I was thinking we could just watch some Netflix until we pass out."
Luke smiled, " That sounds perfect."
I grabbed my laptop and led Luke back to this room. We climbed on the bed and rest our backs on the headboard. I open my laptop and bring up Netflix.
"What are you in the mood for?" I asked him as I started to scroll through titles."Anything funny," Luke suggested.
"Well here," I told him as I moved my laptop onto his lap. "You search and I'll go get snacks."
I hop out of the bed and make my way down the dimly lit hallway and down the stairs to the kitchen. I open the cupboard where my mom often puts the popcorn and popped in the microwave for a few minutes. As I heard the faint sound of popping I began opening up other cupboards to find other things to take back to the room.
After burning my fingers on the popcorn bag I managed to get the contents in a bowl without spilling any. I juggle the bowl of popcorn and a package of fudge striped cookies back up the stairs.
"Did you find anything?" I asked Luke as I carefully climbed back on the bed beside him.
"I found something interesting and it seems to be a comedy. I guess we'll see." Luke said pressing the play button.
The movie was almost over when I felt Luke's head slowly fall onto my shoulder. It was then, that I realized he had fallen asleep. I didn't want to move in fear of waking him. I knew the trip alone wore him out and the timezone shift was definitely not of any help either.
I stared at him for a few moments contemplating my choices as I softly closed my laptop. He looked so peaceful and I knew the right choice was to go to my bed. However, against what I should do, I closed my eyes and leaned my head to rest on Luke's and let myself drift off to the sounds of his his quiet snores.
A/N: Told you I wouldn't make you guys wait as long this time. You guys to vote if you like it. Also, you should tell me what you think 🧐
