10k's POV

"So this Rocky dude loses the fight?" I ask Doc incredulously.

"But by losing the fight, he wins," he replies.

How does that even make sense? Actually, nothing makes sense anymore.

"I'd like to see Rocky fight a Zee," I tell him. "That way, if he loses, he gets eaten." Doc chuckles, adjusting the satellite dish he's carrying.

Cassandra catches up to us just as we make it back to the truck. The first thing I notice is the absence of Bex and Addy.

"What's wrong?" Doc asks frantically. "Where's Addy and Bex?"

"Missing," Mack replies. "Taken alive, too." He then holds up a tablet to Cassandra. "Do you know them?"

"Why would I?"

Warren speaks up. "These are your biking buddies."

"I told you I don't know them!"

In one motion, Mack is behind her, a gun to her temple. "You're gonna start telling me the truth right now or I'm going to start blowing holes into you until you do! Do you understand?" Charles is in the background trying to pull Mack away, but secretly, I want to do the same to Cassandra. Bex was right about groups. Now she gets to pay the price for my idiocy.

A Zee runs towards us, though I take it down before most of the group even registers a threat. The distraction gives Cassandra the chance to run. Doc and I watch the rest of the group run after her.

Bex's POV

"Where—where am I?" Colors swirl in my vision, making me sick to my stomach.

"Well, hello there, Sleeping Beauty," a pervy voice speaks from behind me. Turning around, I spot a middle-aged Asian man. "We weren't sure if you were going to wake up. Now worries now." His eyes roam over my body appreciatively. It's then I notice what I'm wearing: a sheer white strapless dress barely covering my ass.

"I'd love to stay and play with you but there's someone who wants to meet you." He throws me a pair of black mid-calf combat boots, a stark contrast to the white dress. After I put the shoes on, the man leads me to what looks like a dining room. Except there's half a body on the table, still moving. This should really disturb me, but this isn't even the worst thing I've seen since the apocalypse.

"Hey, Addy," I wave at her. She's too shocked by the body to respond to me.

"Ah, our Sleeping Beauty! I'm Tobias," a man greets me. He extends his hand, which I shake without hesitation. I don't want to be next on the menu.

"Hungry?" he grins at me.

"Starved," I reply with fake enthusiasm. In reality, I want to vomit.

"Sir, there's fresh meat at the gate," the same Asian guy says.

"Looks like your time is up, Addy. Come along now," he tells her, holding a knife along her neck. They leave me alone with a non-responsive woman. Seriously, is she even alive?

"Well, it's been fun, but I gotta go," I tell her, walking out of the dining hall. I walk along the fence until I find a small weakness. A large cut results from a sharp piece in the fence, but I ignore it, more worried about escaping the cannibals. I know that the negotiation is only for Addy; there's only me to take care of me.

"Bex."

I turn to see 10k. "Hey, Killer."

I'm pulled into a surprising embrace. I pat him awkwardly on the back.

"Are you okay?" he asks me.

I shrug. "I guess. I was unconscious most of the ordeal."

"Apparently," he comments, looking me up and down. His face is blank, but a lower appendage gives him away.

"C'mon, let's get back to that god-awful group." I didn't want to, but I didn't want to lose 10k either.

"Bex—"

"Yeah?" I stop, looking back at him.

He grunts. "Nothing." His cheeks burn a bright red.

I grin at him.

10k's POV

I take my position next to Bex. She's poised next to me, ready to fire her bow, looking lethally beautiful in her dress. I've always been able to take care of my boners due to Bex in the past, but this time I can't seem to, which sucks since I shouldn't be thinking about this right now. Maybe Doc can help me later. This can't be healthy.

"Well that was easy," Bex says, standing up.

What? Did I miss it already?

"Let's go, Killer."

I follow her towards the group, but all I want to do is push her onto the grass and make little 5k's.
