Callie
Dear journal, at 7:00 am the sun rays came down from my window to kiss my face. It was warm and calming today is a Saturday so its going to be great. I know that today will be good because there are no bullies here its peaceful. Marie and I have to do the news today, I was thinking of asking Marie if she would like to join me for brunch yum! I know that she will get pizza because it is her favorite I will get a hamburger because that's my favorite. 7:15 am Marie and I have been getting ready for the day I honestly don't know what I would do without her she tied my long black and pink tenticals into a bow so they would not brush the floor. After putting my makeup on which is a light shade of pink blush I left to my room to get ready. I couldn't tell what I wanted to wear until I remembered my pink crop top with black jeans. I had found my pink crop top but I couldn't find my black jeans, "MARIE" I yelled " DID YOU TAKE MY BLACK JEANS AGAIN?" "NO I DON'T THINK SO" she replied back. That's when I lost it and marched right into her room while she was still hogging the restroom. Her room was lit with the sun Marie and I had the same sized room but her window was larger and my closet was more big. She had a queen sized bed same as me but her sheets were black and white with a neon green lining. Her day bed had a small pile of clothing shoved off to the side. She had posters of her drawings all over walls. I looked back to the small pile of clothing on her day bed and right on the tippy top were my black jeans
I snatched them up and ran to the bathroom. I slammed open the door and looked at Marie "what are these doing in YOUR room?" I asked " I don't know.." she said innocent...to innocent. We started at each other throwing wet rags at one another faces that's when grandpa barged in and yelled "WHAT THE FLABBER FISH STICKS IS YALL DOING" Marie and I started to laugh we can't stay mad at one another its too hard. After we had gotten dressed we headed for brunch then went to go do the news I was right today was fan freaking tastic. -stay fresh.***
Marie
The Dream•
I was laying stiff as a board on the white cold floor. Above me was peer white too. I sat up, looking around my surroundings. Everywhere was white, like I was in purgatory. I picked up myself to my feet and walked forward not knowing where I was going. The more I kept walking, the more I saw a figure. And each step closer, it looks more familiar. With one more step, I saw... Callie. I ran towards her, like there was a murderer going to kill me. I got as close as I wanted, arm lengths away. I was catching my breath, looking at the ground. She turned around to me.
•Dream Ends•
My eyes shot open, I shot up breathing heavily. I looked around to see my dark room. I looked at my phone, "4:55 a.m.". I did realize it was the weekend, so I plop back down to sleep. I didn't dream that same dream again.
I woke up to a better lit room. Where my phone read, "9:30 a.m.". I realized that I was still in my clothes from dance class. I rolled out of bed and made myself a steamy ink bath. I take off my clothing and step into the bath. I sat there, trying to relax my mind. Even if I can't go to school to find who was killing parts of Callie, I need to do what I need to do. I like to sink half my face in a ink bath, like I'm spying. I sat there for a while, so I unplugged the ink bath and step out. I wrapped a towel around my body and did a little bit of makeup. I walked to my room and chose my outfit. I wore a cream colored sweater dress with black tights. I tie my tentacle hair into my usual side bow hair. I put my hat I usually wear with Callie on my bedside table. I went down the stairs with my phone and plopped down on the couch. Grandpa was in the kitchen making his usual steamed coffee. I gazed at my phone, looking at social media because that's what we do now. Moments later Grandpa said, "Hey can ya go to the store? Uh... were runnin' out of food." "Alrighty Gramps," I sighed, getting up and stretching. I slip on black flats and grabbed my tiny pastel green backpack I call my purse. I stepped out into the open, with warm fresh air. I close the door behind me and walked to the train station to get to Inkopolis. I got my train card and slapped it on the scanner for me to go in. It was like s subway type thing. I went down the escalator and waited for the right train. It shortly arrived and thousands of people get out. I sneak in and get myself a seat. People enter, and it was really crowded on the weekends. On the way to Inkopolis, an older squid entered and I let her have my seat, people I heard behind me gasp. Maybe because they never heard of kind hearted people. I stood up for the rest of the way there. I knees started to lock. When the older squid left I sat right back down because if I stood for any longer I would pass out and people would make it a bigger deal than it really is. It took very long to get to Inkopolis, and I exit the train. I walked around the streets and went to the store. I bought many things that grandpa put on this shopping list, and the one he wrote first was is childhood dangos. People gazed at me too, what can I say? It is the life of a star. I picked up every food he listed and went to pay. I had a lot of money left, so I stayed a bit at Inkopolis.
A flyer slaps my face, and leaves a paper cut on my forehead. Tons more swarm around me, like a stampede. I grabbed one to see what it was saying. The flyer said that there was a new bar opening up, and it needs musicians to play at it. It lit my candle of interest. I rolled it up and put it in my bag. I wanted to look where the bar was being build, so I spent hours finding it. When I did, it was really big. I walked into the new built bar and it was really big. "Ahhh!" A voice screamed with excitement. It made me jump. It was a squid. "Oh my~ is this a legendary squid sister in my bar?" He smiles wide. "Yeah actually, I saw your flyer and I wanted to check it out!" I said with a smile. "Ooh! Very nice, very nice," He nods. "Wait, aren't their two of you? One with really long tentacles?" He asks. "Oh, Callie? She's not out and about at the moment," my smile turns into a small frown. He nods. "So... would you like to work here by singing?" He asks. "Yeah... but you haven't heard me sing..." I said But was interrupted. "Dude, you're a celebrity did you forget? I've listen to all of your songs," he said like I was a weeaboo. "I know that," I scowled. "Ooh yess! Attitude love it!" He claps. "You will be our opening and closing performer! Singing oh so dramatic songs yas," His eyes sparkled with glee. I stare at him with an awkward smile. "You just need a pianist, know anyone?" He asks. I shake my head no. "A shame, where would I find one," he sighs. You could advertise pianists..." I said. "Truth!" He said.
He leaves into the back room of the new bar and handed me all this music. "Sing and memorize this before Wednesday," he said. "Why Wednesday?" I ask. "Because... that's when it'll be most busy," he said. "You don't even know that, most busy is on the weekends," I said. "Then memorize it all for next week then," he said. "I will then," I said. I was about to leave when the squid said. "You left your grocery bag," he points out. I grab it and left to go home. It's weird when you try to get to a place it takes longer, but when you're going home you arrive much faster. I walk into my house and set down the groceries on the table, grabbing them and putting them in the right places they need to go. I went into my room and examined the songs that squid gave me to sing for next week. It was a huge pile he gave, I'm not kidding. The songs he gave me to sing were mostly from musicals and movie soundtracks. Others were just really old songs. If I'm going to be the opening and ending performance for the bar I have to pick the worthy songs for the good time to do it.
It took a very long time until I picked "Never Enough from The Greatest Showman and Lullaby of Takeda" for my songs to sing for Friday. I would also have to find two more for Saturday, but there's so much in the pile. Then I just grabbed two random songs from the pile and used that. I practiced for awhile, practice makes perfect. My favorite to sing for some reason, was Lullaby of Takeda. It was a Japanese Folk song... I remember all the sweet instruments play while I sing this. Before I lived with grandpa and Callie, I lived with my mother. She always sung me to sleep, and always sang Lullaby of Takeda. That's how I knew it. She's still alive, I wonder how she's doing these days.
