Callie

Dear Journal, I still remember that day like it just happened. The day I had moved in with grandpa, it was right after my parents plane crash. I would have never known about it if it wasn't for the stranger at the airport, one of the survivors. I had been waiting at the airport for my parents to arrive with grandpa, when a strange man came up to me and asked "are you Callie?" "Yes" I replied back in a confused tone "I-I don't know how to tell you this" the man had gave grandpa and I a concerned look. He pulled grandpa to the side far enough where I could not here, grandpa's face turned pale and he started crying, that was the first time I had saw grandpa cry. The man had came back and handed me a folded note with a few small rips in the top corners in the paper. He then looked at me and said "I think its best if your grandpa tells you" then walked off. Still in the airport with grandpa still crying a little I opened the note "Our lovely daughter, Callie, the plane is going to crash please know that we love you there is not much to write. We are running out of time. Never give up, okay? You can have whatever you would like. All of the money in the bank account is yours also any thing in the house too. We love you very much dear, goodbye"  I stood there looking at the note I read it a few more times. A big drop of clear water hit the paper I thought it was raining but it was my tears. I looked up at the paper and met with grandpa's eyes. I lost it and started to bawl. All grandpa did with no words at all is held me in his arms and took me home. I cried the whole way. Grandpa had already decided that I would be living with him from now on. A day later with me still upset someone knocked on grandpa's door. A police officer had spoke to him and all I heard was him say "dear ol' lord I knew this would happen some day, send her in" that's when Marie had walked in the door with a single backpack and sat in the nearest chair. She had looked at me but said nothing. I had thought that was very rude. Grandpa pulled me outside and told me that Marie's dad had died and her mother killed him. When I first started to live with Marie I was scared of her I thought she might be a crazy person just like her mom. Turns out she is not like that at all she is my favorite part of life her and grandpa.

•The Dream•

Back into the void like thing, I was still wearing my show clothes from the bar. I see Callie, sitting at the screen, replaying something. At least she was normal. I walk towards her. "Hey Callie," I smile. "What do you want?" She turns around and glares at me.  "Well, I just randomly came here, I don't come here when I please to," I said in sarcasm. "Have you ever thought that your here for a reason!?" Callie yelled in an angry tone. I unwillingly step back, she never tried, or yelled at me in general before. I shrug. "Marie..." Callie starts to drift off.  "I thought you loved me..I thought you wanted to help me, but don't worry I'm probably better off being dead, away from the world." I stood there, those words paralyzed me in fear. "Don't... ever say that. You're too important, important to the world. Important, to me," I croak, the cold tears scratch my face. "Obviously not," Callie huffs. "What..." I started to say, she interrupts me. "Ko- De- " Callie starts to cut out. I can see tears forming on her gentle cheeks. "I was bullied so much why didn't you help me?" Before I could answer her, she vanished.

•Dream Ends•

My eyes struggled to open, but they finally did when I regained consciousness. A few heads were above me. Yoko, Asahi, and... that blue inkling who hangs with the Kaiyo twins. When I looked at them, they looked at me like I was dead. I sat up, they back up a bit. I look around my surroundings. I was in the back room, on the comfy leather couch. "Oh good, so you are alive," Asahi claps his hands together in relief. I shake my head at him. I didn't pay attention to the inkling boy beside Asahi. "We were worried, all of us," Yoko hugged me. I still didn't acknowledge that brat. "This is my son, K-" "Kazuhiro Watanabe, son of Asahi Watanabe," The brat "Kazuhiro" interrupts his father. "You lost consciousness when you fell off of the stage... but it's kind of abnormal to walk straight forward instead of the sides," Yoko tells me. I couldn't tell any of them why, I bet they would laugh at me. "Hmm, were you drunk?" Kazu snorts. I glare at him. "I actually don't know, it is kind of a blur," I lied, I can't tell them. "Well, you are ok, and that's good enough," Asahi beams. We sat in awkward silence.

"I better get home, I need rest," I got up. "Perhaps we can take you home?" Kazu gets up after me. "I can get my own way home, thanks," I huffed. "Let him take you home, you too Yoko. It's not safe wandering out at night," Asahi suggests. "I just live a stop after Inkopolis, I'll be fine," Yoko murmurs, she still got to leave. "How far do you live from Inkopolis?" Kazu asks annoyed. "By our school," I answer. "That's pretty far, just take her home Kazuhiro," Asahi sighs. He'll still force him if I kept saying no, so I had to stop. "Okay, have a nice day," Asahi shoos me and Kazu out of the bar. He ushers me to his car. We both got into his car. Kazu backs out and drives off. I looked out the window the whole time. We were in awkward silence. "So, is school's ever good to you?" Kazu breaks the ice. "I guess," I answer shortly. "Hey, so what ever happened to Callie? She's not at our school anymore," he asks "innocently". I didn't answer him. "Kind of concerned," Kazu said, watching the rode. "Concerned for who," I murmured. He heard me. "Concerned for you, you've haven't been yourself lately," He sighs. I don't even know this guy well, and I know he's up to something. "I don't even know well, why be concerned of me when you don't know me?" I huff. He didn't really say anything after. "What about you and Satomi? Has he ever hurt you?" He asks. "Why bring him up?" I finally looked at Kazu. He shrugs with a big sigh. I couldn't stand much longer in this car with this brat, who bullied my dearest Callie. We almost past by the gate for the mansion street. "Stop the car," I said. "What?" Kazu looks at me. "I said, stop the car," my voice turned to ice. "Stop it! Now!" I started to yell. He hits the break to bar and fast it jerked both of our heads. I unbuckle my seatbelt and dashed out of the car. I slam it hard behind me and walked away from the car. I walked and entered the code. Kazu was running behind me. I slip in through the gate and locked it fast. Kazu's hand grips the gate. "Sorry honey bunches of oats, strangers can't go on this street," I sneer, whipping away from him and walked the rest of the way home.

The night sky was painted with indigo and purple, white dots call stars sprinkled on top. I walked for a few minutes all the way home. At least the air wasn't cold. I got to my house and grabbed the key which hid in the bushes of the pink hydrangeas. I realized they were in full bloom. I walked to the front door and unlocked it quietly, not to disturb Grandpa. The door quietly groans when it opened, I slipped into the door. I close it shut and locked it with a *clink*. I went up to bed and changed into my comfy pjs, slipped into my covers, and pulled my eyes shut.
