Callie
Dear Journal, I have decided im ready I had enough of telling Marie lies and of the bullying. I'm thinking if I go those issues would leave too. It was like any other day Marie was doing her own thing I was doing mine when she called out "Hey Callie, I'm going to take a nap." I didn't know what to say I really wanted to burst out and tell her everything maybe it wasn't to late I could tell her how I love her and I was only trying to protect her. Instead I didn't have the courage I just replied with "kay..." I was way more quiet than normal. Marie went to her room with sagging eyes and yawning. I knew she did not get much sleep last night. About fifteen minutes after she went up stairs I tip toed my way up to the bathroom. I went to grandpas medicine cabinet I saw some sleeping pills that help grandpa to sleep for a awhile because of his back issues. I grabbed them and a glass of water. I went to my room, looked at my squid sisters poster, I smiled to my self hoping that Marie will find my suicide note I left behind. I took a big swig of my water and popped out 20 pills in my mouth. I swallowed. Goodbye...

MarieWalking home, I thought a lot about Koro. His eyes, how they turn from a golden yellow like a beautiful sunset, to a black abyss in the bottom of the bitter sea. It reminded me, so much of Mother. His eyes were in hate, it kind of scared me. "You better watch your back."? That phrase that escaped out of Koro's mouth, struck me in the inside. Though I ignored him, the thought of the phrase started to haunt me now. What is he going to do now that he knows that I know that he's bullying Callie? Someone grabs my shoulder, I was on the edge of the sidewalk. I almost got ran over. I whipped around to see who it was, none other than Satomi. "I'm so much off guard... Satomi," I sighed. I look at him once more, but it wasn't him. It was a green inkling, just not Satomi. I jumped a little, I was talking to a random stranger. The crosswalk turns green, and I ran away from the random inkling. Shortly, I arrived home.
When I walked in, Grandpa was seated in front of the piano. His hands were resting on the keys. I set my school bag down and sat next to Grandpa. "Grandpa...?" I softly poke at him, he jumps just a little. "Fiddlin fries you scared me!" He slowly chuckles. "You... okay gramps?" I raise a brow. "Yes I'm fine, just pondering," he replies softly. He also had sheet music up on the stand. Hungarian Dance No. 5. Arranged duet. My hands set on the keys, I played the top part. It made Grandpa turn to me, wide eyed. I stopped in my tracks, looking at him. "Did you... want to duet?" I ask awkwardly. "Yeah Yeah, sure," Grandpa repositions his hands. We begin playing. If Grandpa was sight reading this, I'm impressed. Sometimes he would try to be louder than me, but I became louder than him. It's like a tiny fight, sometimes it's fun. Other times, it messes up the song.
We ended the song with our last notes, "That was truly fun Gramps," I smile brightly at him. He sat there, without a word, without a smile. It's like, he wasn't within himself. I couldn't really tell, but I thought I just saw a single tear drop from his wide eyes. He looks at me, and quickly wipes his tear like I didn't notice. "Sorry, this song brings me back..." he sadly chuckles. "Did it have to do something... with mother?" Frowning, I ask. "Yeah, actually," Grandpa said. "When your mom was little, she was a prodigy at the piano, just like you. Maybe a tiny bit less than you. She would play a lot, sometimes it would bother me and your Uncle. But sometimes, your uncle would sing when your mother played. It really brought a lot of joy to the house. Your mother's teacher would have her play this song. Hungarian Dance No. 5. Arranged Duet. The teacher would be the bottom part and she would be the top part. Funny thing is, I was her teacher. She would keep in time, sometimes I would kind of challenge her and speed up the tempo."
"And the funny thing is... when you were playing with me, I saw Valori in you. Not the psychopathic side, but the musical side. You have her talents. The glance I saw you in, you look just look like your mother. Your mother was beautiful," Grandpa smiles. "I..." I was speechless. So he's basically saying, "You are your mother's daughter. You eat like her, talk like her, and hey, look JUST LIKE HER." I don't know if he was being nice, or a total dickhead when he talks about Mother. "I hope I didn't offend you, you have your own personality," Grandpa shrugs. "And what's my own personality like?" I started to get annoyed. "Well, really different from your mum that's for sure," he said. "And that's the thing, you don't know me," I murmured harshly under my breath.
