We were home watching silent films Grandpa watched when he was little. He felt like showing me, he was really excited and told me all about the plot. The two of us watched a whole marathon, it made me forget all about today. "See, this. This is real tv, a real plot," Grandpa points right at the tv. "Well I think all stories have a plot Gramps," I chuckle. I was about to fall asleep, it's funny to see people react with no sound. They looked so much older than what us inklings do now. They had more matured features than us. All I could remember last before I drifted to sleep was watching a girl gasping at their dead husband.
•The Dream•
She kept swimming further down into the black ink, but I caught up to her and grabbed Callie's body. Holding her, I swam upwards to the surface and pushed Callie's body out of the ink. Callie coughs out the ink she accidentally swallowed. "Callie what the hell?!" I also coughed out the ink. "You.... you were drowning down there..." Callie's voice shutters. "What? Callie I just saved you how was I drowning?" I was confused. Callie looks away, not answering my question. "Well whatever... you're safe and that's all tha-" "Marie I'm done." Callie snaps. "Stop trying to help Marie! God, you make it worse. Maybe I don't want to go back out there. This is where I belong, dead!" Callie screams, my heart shatters and I never felt another heartbeat. I sat there hopeless. All that came out of me were tears rolling down my flushed cheeks. Finally I said, "But I want you back... I've been sacrificing everything to get you back, I even-" "Marie please stop. It's clear I don't want to come back, SO JUST STOP!" Every single word that came out of Callie's mouth stabbed every time and I was ready to fall apart. She continued to go off at me. I just listened, if I said anything else it would mate matters worse and Callie would be more furious with me.
"I learned you can never be there for me so what's the point of coming back!" Was the last thing Callie said. "Okay," I replied. "What?" Callie asked me with a confused face. "Okay Callie. So don't come back. That's what clearly makes you happy. You obviously don't want me in your life anymore so live alone here. Even though I cared about you, worried so much about when you wake up but it's just so clear. Just tell me next time that you want to stay here and keep worrying Grandpa, your fans, and me sick," I finally snap back. But after I saw Callie's reaction to what I said, I regretted everything. "I... didnt know you actually worried..." Callie sobs. "I always thought... thought you forgot about me and when I saw you with all the people, you looked happier without me. I thought you didn't want to be my other half anymore so I went with my own path." Callie then starts to sob with me.
"Well, what do you want?"
•Dream Ends•
My eyes sprung open and I woke up crying. I was on the couch in the dark, Grandpa must've went upstairs. I remembered what I had to finish, dispose of Koro's dead body. I got on flats and snuck outside. The night sky above me was dull, I didn't see a single star, and the sky wasn't it's indigo color. It was painted to a dull gray. I begin my walk to school, the streets were empty so it was a lot quicker to get to the school.
The school was empty, there was no police tape or anything. I went into school grounds and went to the exact location of where I place his body. He was hidden pretty well, but when I move some leaves. There was no sight of his body! Suddenly I felt so sick to my stomach. He couldn't just walked up and left, he was dead! There was no report on this shooting at all either! So why in the hell would his body be gone? I had to make sure his body wasn't moved. I checked everywhere in the school there was no sign of a dead body. Maybe the cops found him and is still silent about it and want to know who's his murderer is. I had to leave, the cops could come back and arrest me for trespassing. I ran back home, at least I got some good exercise. So many things were just happening at once, I probably won't sleep tonight. I put on pajamas and got onto my phone. So many texts from Yoko worrying, a lot from Pearl too. I went on to check. I first look at Yoko's.
"Hey are you coming today?"
"The school is on lockdown! There a shooting are you okay?!"
"I'll text you later, text me when you get this..."
I text her back telling her that I was okay, she responds so quickly with a smiley face. I read Pearl's but it was just student council crap. I suddenly had this urge to text Satomi, to make sure he was okay. I go to his contacts.
"Hey, are you up?"
"...Marie! You're up this late too?"
"Yeah... can't sleep..."
"Me neither... so you're okay."
"Yeah I guess, why?"
"I'm just... glad that you are."
"Can I just text you all night, til I sleep?"
"Sure."
***
I don't know why but this one took long because I got distracted...
But hope you like the chapter!
Next few ones... oof
So the bold text was Satomi's texts, italicized text was Yoko's, and Marie's is just normal
(You guys probably caught on but making sure...)~Marie
