The party

Upon arriving, my whole pack greeted me with cheers and shouts. I kept myself composed, bowing my head trying to portray my respect. My father was in front of me heading towards the elders.

"Honey. Go talk with your friends. You have made everyone extremely proud tonight. Your brother has sent his respects. You deserve tonight. Go. Have fun."

"Thank you so much Father."

And with that I head towards my friends, most of which are back into their human form. I quickly change into some skinny jeans, a blue football jersey, a white sheer scarf and my black boots.

"HEY SKYLARS HERE!!" Zephyr chants, causing everyone to look my way.

There was a ton of 'great jobs' and 'way to go's'thrown my way before I actually made it to my friends.

"Wow barely 14 and you already have the respects of everyone. How does it feel?" Amoux questions.

"It was just my job. I did what had to be done."

That all laughed at my response.

They all know that I'm a very curt person. I don't like taking forever with what has to be said. It's easier to just say it and get it over with.

I partied with with my best friend Zephyr. He was always there for me. My good friend Dakota wasn't here for this perfect moment because she was on her first hunting trip. I still told her through the pack link and she let me know how proud she was of me.

The celebration was great. Everyone was so kind but everything started to get too loud. I had to get out.

Getting out of the party, I made my way to my mothers room. She's barely there but I like being there, everything about her was so warm and welcoming. To my dismay, I found her crying. Rushing over to her, I lifted her face out of her hands and hugged her; trying so hard to hug away her sadness. She was my bestfriend, my best motivator, I couldn't see her like this.

"Baby, did you kill all of them?" She choked out through all of her cries.

"No mom. I let one live. Like daddy taught me. I gave him mercy."

Her cries only got louder. I was so confused. Why isn't she proud of me? Did I do something wrong? I was in so much pain seeing my mother like this, and knowing that I was the cause of it.

"Baby, I want you to promise mommy one thing okay."

"Alright mommy. Anything for you."

"Please, please, please be kind to all that you meet. Please only show your dark side to those that deserve it. Always be proud of what you've done but never be proud when you kill okay?"

"Yes mommy."

"Alright sweetie. Don't let mommies words get you down okay? You can listen to your father, always show mercy, but never be proud of how he makes you show it. Be nice to people. You will soon be the Alpha of this pack and I don't want people to fear you.

You will gain their respect, not only by your strength, but also your kindness." She wiped away all of my tears and held me for who knows how long. Minutes? Hours? However long it was, I just never wanted it to end.

My mother made me go back to the party. She didn't want me to think about her words but they plagued my mind. Was I that bad of a person? Did my own mother fear me?

I chose to just go to my room and think about what I've done. I tried my hardest to live up to my father for the past thirteen years and I never thought about how I made others feel. I have to change my ways. I can't let my pack live in fear. I have to get them to gain my trust too.

"Hey hun, are you still up"

Dakota? What does she want.

"Yeah. What's up? Aren't you hunting?"

"We finished. I'm on my way back now. Guess what I caught?" I already knew but I just played on like I didn't know.

"What did you catch, a bunny?"

"Thats just cruel. No faith in me? How sad" I couldn't help but laugh. "No you jackass I got a deer! Isn't that awesome. A whole fucking deer"

"Not half of one?"

"You are an ass, but anyways do you think you'll be up when I get back?"

"Yeah. Do you want to hang?"

"Of course. I'll be back in 10. Wait outside for me Kay?"

Making my way outside, I waited for her. I hope that she'll be able to help me out of this funk. She's always been good at that.
