Unknown's P.O.V

The pain that riddled his body, bled over us all and bathed us in his agony. He was not thinking clearly, instead he wanted to know who's foolishness accounted for his wife's, no his mate's death. He wanted their blood and for some reason I cannot own up to my mistake. I cannot step out of this crowd as he viscously calls everyone out. Everyone but me.

I'm not sure if it's my fear of what may happen to me or the thought of loosing my mate, but I dare not move. My wolf whines and scratches the surface, trying to make things right but I fight it. I fight it because I know that if I claim to be the foolish warrior he will kill my mate before my eyes and I cannot let that happen.

I'm consumed by my fear and even as he lashes out on the newest warriors I stay put, strangled by that fear. He continuously assaults the pup with questions that she has no answers to. On the surface she is calm but on the inside she quivers from fear and holds in unshed tears. She wants him to leave her alone and when he raises his hand to strike her, she braces herself for the painful blow.

Before his hand reaches her, Sky's body lodges itself between the two and his angry blow lands hard across her face. If it were possible, everyone fell silent. More silent than they were from the start. All thoughts, private linked conversations, everything stopped. Havana's deadly growl resonates throughout the empty yard and Eric apologizes profusely.

"Eric.." Sky's voice is abnormally calm, causing both Eric and Havana to stop.

Sky stands there, hand on her face, silent. Eons pass before she chooses to speak after her agonizing silence.

"...It was me..." Her voice is just below a whisper but gasps fill the previously empty yard. My body stiffens along with my mate's. Why is she covering for us? She did nothing wrong and yet she has taken the blame for us. My wolf howls in shame but I stay in place, gripping onto my mates hand, afraid that I would somehow loose them from my cowardice.

"Don't stay anything." She speaks softly to us through link. All the warriors who thought about protesting her false statement stay quiet and clench their fist. They all know that she wasn't on duty tonight and that in fact it wasn't her. The anger that radiates off them scares me because I am the cause of it all.

"It's not your fault." At those words I want to protest and turn myself in but my mate hold me back. In their embrace I feel weak. I am not warrior but a coward.

"What?" Eric's broken voice brings me back to the scene that unraveling in front of me. His eye hold betrayal and rage. He trusted her and she let his mate die. His body visibly shakes from the rage that slowly consumes his body. In his eyes, she was the most disgusting thing on this earth and it sickened me seeing her get treated like that.

Throughout the pack, people shouted profanities at her, letting their true colors show. They didn't trust nor like her. Repeatedly they called her a monster and tried to converge on her as one. Each time the word reached her she cringed from pain.

Fights broke out between the fakes that only followed because try were told and her loyal friends.

"SILENCE!" Everyone listens and pays the alpha the attention he deserves. By this time Havana is at her mates side because she too knows that Sky's not at fault. Her eyes are pleading her mate to renounce all that she just said, but it's too late.

Eric bids that Havana leave that creature alone but she doesn't budge. She doesn't leave her mate because she knows that she is anything but a monster. No monster would take the fall for something so devastating and seeing this, Eric's rage multiplies ten fold.

His anger is exacted on Sky still, blaming her for not only the death of his mate but the corruption of his daughter.

Once again the vulgar shouts begin but this time Havana stops them.

"You're all weak, blind, fools. She had been here for you all and yet you all discard her like she is a used toy. It's disgusting."

"Stop sticking up for that trash. Havana I am telling, not asking, you to come here. NOW!" Eric growls the last part and when Havana again doesn't listen his eyes shine pure gold.

"THEN LEAVE AND TAKE THAT SORRY EXCUSE OF A MATE WITH YOU. IF YOU EVER SET FOOT ON THIS LAND, SO HELP ME, I WILL NOT HESITATE TO KILL YOU AND ANYONE YOU LOVE!"

Turning his back on them, he angrily shouts at all who wish to follow the demon out of the pack and no one is shocked when Kota, Claire, Harry, Scar and Santiago step from the crowd to join her. They all rush to Skylar's side and form a protective circle around her and her mate.

Eric looks on ,disgusted, and tells them all that they have an hour to leave. A small path parts for them as they slowly leave the pack house and head for Skylars house.

"As soon as that hours up I want you all to chase them out of our territory." With that said he leaves and I feel sickened.

Sky's P.O.V

After leaving the suffocating crowd, I order Harry and Santiago to get their trucks and whatever they need, then meet us back at my house in fifteen.

While they are away, I makes sure that the girls only pack what they need and seeing that Claire has nothing at my house I promise to buy her everything she needed once we settle down.

"Where are we gonna go Sky..?" They all want the answer but I just assure them that I have a place that we can call our own.

Fifteen minutes passes and as promised the boys are back and hauling our things into there trucks. Claire rides with Santiago while Kota and Scar go with Harry.

Havana and I hop into my challenger, saying goodbye to the empty home and leave with ten minutes to spare.

"They will come after us. Be ready and just follow me." Connecting us all in our own mind link, I warn them. Though I cannot see them, I know that Eric's pack is following our every move, slowly moving to attack. Then a multitude of colors bled out of the forest and into the clearing, darting towards our cars but we don't stop and they keep following me.

A few moments later we are pass his boundary lines and they stop following us and Havana finally breathes and loosens the death grip on my hand.
