So my birthday's coming up.

Birthdays were always my favorite. Something about being older and getting gifts makes me feel special and giggly and weird~

"Uhm, earth to Kylie?" Katy said, waving her hands in front of me.

"Oh um, I'm back."

She laughed. "I asked you a question."

"Repeat the question."

She laughed even more. "So it's your birthday in a few days-"

"Yeah..."

"Do you see that really cute dress over there?" She said, pointing to a navy blue dress to the side of the shop, hanging gloriously by the hanger.

"Oh my gosh, yeah?!" I said, thinking of opening it on the day of my birthday and wearing it to special occasions and-

"Well I got you a toothbrush, same color!"

Oh my gosh. How did I even believe her, this is ridiculous-

I laughed and punched her. "You suck!"

She giggled uncontrollably and slapped her knee just to make fun of me.

Once she stopped, she sat down.

"Oh, by the way, we're leaving. You know, going to Canada, tonight."

"Tonight!? Why so soon!?"

"I might have asked your dad to go to Canada before your birthday comes because hello? Canada is fabulous."

"But I'm expecting something." I pouted.

"Darren's gift? Let's just say...you'll get it."

I was stunned. "Hold up, how'd you know I was expecting his gift? Are you some kinda sidekick or what."

"I know things, hun."

"I also know that you have a picture of Darren saved on your phone. And your Wattpad account is full of Darren fanfics.

I crossed my arms. "Stalker kasi!"

She evilly grinned and I rolled my eyes jokingly.

We decided to walk around the mall and search for random stuff like shoes, and finally, we watched TFIOS. We read the books, so we knew what was in store.

When it was over, we stood in shock.

"Ugh I need a Gus in my life."

"Just one that dosn't die." I laughed. She evil eyed me and was about to smack me before saying "Too soon, Kylie Garcia! Too soon."

I ordered frozen yogurt and she did too, but she got it plain while I asked for strawberries with mine.

We walk to our seats and enjoy the frozen desserts while making kwento about our experiences in school.

"I'm so excited!" I screamed while throwing away my cup.

She wiggled her eyebrows. "Not for Darren's gift, oy stop with that look! You know dang well that I hate that look-"

"It's because you know I'm right."

I slapped her on her arm and she slapped me back.
