Chapter Three: Second Evaluation

We were starting the dance today and Jae-Seung really stepped up the difficulty because I had some small problems learning it. But by the time we met the trainees to teach them the steps I had the whole thing down, and I think I surprised Jae-Seung with how fast I learned the whole thing.

We were in the same place we were yesterday with all one hundred and one boys with the pyramid of seats behind us. Each group was split up by which rank they were so A's were in pink, B's in orange and so forth.

We started up by just playing the song and having the group who knew it perform before breaking it down step by step for the boys. The A's seemed to follow along the best understanding each of the moves and picking up the dancer quicker than I thought they would. But the other groups were struggling a bit not prepared for the fast pace that we were going at, but this was how idols were taught dances so they would have to get used to it.

The groups were adequately represented who was learning the dance the quickest with the F levels at the bottom. But Jae-Seung and I did our best and now it was up to them to remember the dance.

Now it was time to split the boys up by group to get a feel for how they were doing in learning the dance. Unsurprisingly the A's did very well each nailing the choreography even the harder parts that had strumpet the other groups. Jae-Sung stood next to me and we pointed out each of the moves and spoke on how the boys had executed it.

Each group got progressively worse, but there were people who stood out in each group to that did better than we were expecting.

After giving the boys the dance we sent them to singing and would go over them when it was just individual ranks.

The fast pace environment was something I missed, having something to do without having to schedule it yourself. In America I had to find my own work which meant I wasn't always prepared for the boring times I got.

Jae-Seung and I actually got to talk a little bit about our choreographing experience. Where I did work for people overseas he stayed in kpop choreographing for some pretty big names in the industry.

We were able to compare notes on some of the people we had to deal with and how some idols can get a little spoiled.

I really couldn't believe that I was friends with someone like this were I was able to talk freely about whatever. I've been looking up to him for a really long time so it was interesting to be seen on the same level as him.

"Alright well it's time for the individual levels," he said clapping his hands and we made our way to the A-levels room. The group was already practicing when we walked in and I gave a smile knowing how they were feeling right now.

"You all remember what we taught you earlier," I asked leaning against a wall watching the group.

They all seemed instantly nervous when we walked in and started talking, seeming like they were worried to talk. After a couple of seconds of silence they started to nod and agree that they were ready to show us. Jae-Seung went through the moves with them making sure they were all understanding it. But while watching them I noticed that Ong was having a very difficult time remembering all of the moves.

Jae-Seung called out Daehwi and Samuel to perform the dance in front of the others and they both did very well. "You two seemed good, with a little practice the rest of you will be able to catch up and be good too," Jae-Seung said nodding to the boys.
