Chapter Twenty-Seven: Five Years Later
Yes, I know the time doesn't make sense just imagine that Crazy Rich Asians came out after Wanna One dispands.
"Please welcome Hana Tae" Ellen Degeneres shouted as I started making my way out from behind the stage.
"Thank you so much for having me," I said shaking Elene's hand.
"Thank you for being on. The audience you may recognize Hana here from her starring role in the movie Crazy Rich Asians, but some of you may know her from when she was in the kpop group IOI" she said gaining a large round of applause from the audience. "She went from being a kpop idol to choreographing for some of the biggest stars. She then went back to Korea continuing her career and is now starring in Hollywood movies" she said my whole life story so quickly.
"Thank you for all your kind words," I said with a smile.
"Now you were originally born in Korea, can you explain why you felt this movie is so important to the Asian community," she asked me.
"In China and Korea you have shows made for the country, but there is nothing like making it in Hollywood. The fact that Asians have less than two percent of speaking roles it affects the Asian Americans who were born here. Now people can look at the screen and be able to understand what it is like to see someone like you on screen" I said. It had already been said many times but it could always be repeated.
"As well as being one of the main roles in the movie, you also choreographed some of the dance sequences in the film, is that correct," she asked.
"Yes as someone who has done choreography throughout Asia they specifically asked me to help with the dancing," I told her.
She continued to ask me questions about the movie before she changed the questions to more personal questions. "So you and your husband took Korea by storm. If you guys don't know Hana is married to Ong Seungwoo another Korean Idol who she met on the exact show that Hannah got her start on" Elane said. Behind us, pictures from Ong and I's wedding was being shown along with other pictures of us two. "You guys are adorable," she said.
"Thank you it took us a while after the show to actually start seeing each other but I think we both know it was worth the wait," I said.
"Yes, you had most of Korea obsessed with your love life and even some people from here were following it as well. Everybody fell in love with you and your guest list I hear was almost four hundred people" she said.
"Well, when you are an idol you have many other idol friends so of course, you couldn't leave any of them out not to mention both of our families" I explained.
"Now because I get asked this all the time I was wondering how you make it work between you and Ong when you both or very popular celebrities," she asked me.
"Would it be cliche to say communication, we both knew that it would be rough going in and we just adjusted to it?" I said. "We had more problems just telling each other we liked each other because we rarely saw each other" I explained. "I didn't even know he liked me until I was in a relationship with another guy".
"Now the two of you are living seemingly normal lives with a random Hollywood movie every couple of months," she said.
"We have houses in both Korea and California so that we can go between the two countries for our different schedules. My husband currently is in Korea filming a drama" I told her.
"So you guys can be separated for weeks even months at a time how do you keep the romance alive," she asked.
"I can't really tell you that, I just make him not want to leave," I said.
We both laughed along with the rest of the audience before she moved into a game. Since signing up to be in the movie I had given plenty of interviews all of them rather similar. I didn't mind talking about my relationship as I loved Ong and I loved to encourage people to go after who they want.
After my interview, I left heading back to my house already tired from my busy day. Though when I got home I was created by something I wasn't expecting, Ong stood in the kitchen with his suitcase.
"I'm home" he simply said as I fell into his arms.
He had been away for a couple of weeks as he was filming in Korea and to say I missed him was an understatement. "I hate you, you know" I joked causing him to laugh as we stood in each other's arms.
"How was your interview," he asked.
"Good same old but everyone in America loves Elane," I said with a simple smile. "Come on let's relax," I said leading him over to the coach and taking a seat wrapping my arms around Ong's waist.
"I missed you," he said. His head moved down and he quickly kissed the top of my head.
"Same" I whispered back.
We continued to talk for a while before finally going out to dinner before returning home. Now I was nervous I knew Ong would be coming home but I wasn't sure of when he would be arriving. I was preparing to tell him important news when he got home but now that he was here I was freaking out inside.
"So we need to talk," I said as we stood in the kitchen.
Ong looked up his eyes widening slightly not really fully understanding what I was about to tell him. "What is it, did something happen when I was gone," he asked.
"No, no. Nothing bad it is actually good news" I told him.
He stood waiting for me to explain while I messed with my hands staring at the ground in front of me. "I'm pregnant" I finally said looking up to gauge his reaction which didn't change for a few seconds.
When he finally did reveal what he was feeling he had a huge smile on his face and swiftly pulled me into his arms.
We celebrated that night with watching a movie, Ong's hand softly rubbing my tummy as we relaxed. The two of us had changed greatly since we started dating, both of us only growing together. While I broke out into Hollywood movies Ong became very popular in Korean dramas being asked to star in quite a few of them. The Korean media had deemed us the ultimate power couple, which was quite the title.
I could only imagine what would be said through the media when we announce that we were having a kid. When I was growing up I always questioned why celebrities had kids together and I never fully understood it until I was actually in the part. We were doing pretty well together despite everything between us.
No negative thoughts crossed my mind while I thought about having a kid with Ong. Either of us would stay with him or her and I didn't doubt that we would raise a child that would be perfect.
Both of us were pretty famous performers and if need be one of us could stop working for a bit, heck even both of us could stop working for a bit. We were well off, to say the least, and both of us knew we weren't going to let our child grow up not knowing who we are. Another good thing about having a kid with us was that we both agreed that family is one of the only things we really need in life.
The two of us would be the perfect one for this job and we could be more excited.
"I love you" Ong randomly said leaning down and giving me a swift kiss to the top of my head.
"Love you too," I said turning my head meeting his lips in another kiss.
We made our way quickly to the bedroom finishing the night with a light celebration inside our bedroom. It was perfect and I would have it no other way.
