Chapter Eight: Apple Picking
My first date with Ong went really well, afterwards I answered a ton of questions that the producer asked me and I was able to go back to the hotel to sit around and do nothing. I was told that I would be contacted for what we would do next but until then I didn't have a lot to do.
"Hello," I said picking up my phone awwing a number that I didn't recognize.
"Was that Korean that was so cute" Victoria spoke from the other end causing a smile to spread onto my features.
"Hey Victoria, sorry I didn't see it was you and Since I'm in Korea I usually speak in Korean," I said.
"If that is what Korean sounds like, you should be going up to every guy on the street and asking them questions in Korean," she said with a laugh. "Anyway, have you met him? Who is he? Is he cute?" she asked in rapid succession.
I laughed hoping she would stop asking questions, "Yes I met him. Get this he was one of the boys from the show I helped out on" I said feeling weird saying it out loud.
"No way that's insane, answer my other questions now please, and I would like his name," she said.
"His name is Ong Seungwoo and yes he is very cute," I said knowing that was something I would never go back on.
I could hear Victoria moving around on the other side of the phone as if searching for something. "Ohh he is attractive. There's talk about this show you're doing with him, they have no idea it's you yet" she said. I was guessing she had looked him up online, something I had not done yet but was happy there wasn't anything about me yet.
"Yeah we went on our first date, I'm sure the episode will be airing shortly," I said.
Victoria let out a little squeak from the other end clearly excited about the whole ordeal. "I can't believe you get to do this, I am so jealous," she said the excitements clear in her voice as she spoke.
"It was weird he used to speak up to me and now I'm technically supposed to speak up to him" I explained.
"Korea is weird" Victoria responded.
"Yes but I don't really mind," I said. "I'm weird anyway so it only makes sense," I said causing us both to laugh.
"But I mean this is cool right the boy your marriage isn't completely insane right," she asked. It was true this all could be a lot worse
"You right I just hope there won't be any awkward moments between us," I said.
"Don't worry you will be fine. Are you going to come back for the premiere" she asked?
The premier was going to be at the end of the month and I would still be filming this show for it. As a little surprise to Ong, I was going to see if he would be able to come over with me and go to the premier with me. I figured it would be nice for him to see the effects of what hard work during promotions can do. To be truthful though I always worked hard towards what I wanted and if I didn't get something I assumed it was because I didn't try hard enough.
"I hope, I have to get it cleared with about fifty people before I can actually do it," I said knowing that, that would be annoying.
"We'll do it I would love to meet your husband. I almost wish that I could go to your guys' wedding" she said. I almost regretted explained everything to her because I think she was more excited than I was about the whole thing.
"Don't worry if I'm going to that premier he will be with me," I told her.
It was nice though it had been a long time since I have had the type of girlfriend who wanted to make sure my date was worthy of my time. In IOI we weren't allowed to date so there was really nothing like that, that could happen.
