Chapter Twenty-One: Awkward Encounters

The First time I saw Ong after our We Got Married episodes it was more than awkward, to say the least. I had finished working with EXO and was now just waiting for them to be in the Olympics. As I was finished working with SM for Choreography I needed to find another group to work with. I was definitely very confused when I got a call from YMC entertainment asking for me to do a dance for Wanna One. The offered plenty of pay so there was really no reason to say no so I said yes.

So as I stood in front of the group of boys I had once been really close to it was more awkward than I thought it would be. "So what do you guys have so far," I asked deciding to treat this like a normal client.

Thankfully the other boys looked just as awkward as I did but thankfully moved to show me the moves they had come up with themselves. As we worked I could see some of them glancing between Ong and myself.

I had only just told Kai that I was working with Wanna One because I was worried about how he was going to react. Thankfully he was too freaked out about his upcoming Olympic debut to be freaked out about me and Ong. "Alright come on let's do this again," I said clapping my hands getting the boys to regroup. "Don't tell me you boys are tired?" I said noticing some of the boys moving slowly.

"It's been three hours," Daehwi said his breath coming out unevenly.

"One more time guys and then we can take a break," I said moving over to start the music again.

Getting more groans from the guys I started the music and reluctantly the guys moved to position and started to move to the music. Once they had finished I clapped my hands and let the boys have a break.

"Hana your phone" one of the boys shouted handing my phone to me.

Seeing the name Kai written across the screen I excused myself from the room slipping into the hallway to answer the phone. "Hey," I said.

"Hey how does it feel to be back teaching the same people," he asked adding a small laugh at the end.

"Weird" I responded.

"Is it awkward at all?" he asked. We had talked quite a bit about produce 101 when we had the chance, he seemed obsessed with the show. I didn't mind I enjoyed my time on the show so I didn't mind talking about it he had told me that he was a huge fan of IOI.

His question actually caused me to laugh "of course it is I spent months with this guy and then we never talked again" I said started to slowly pass the hallway.

"Okay, it was a stupid question. Are you free on Saturday" he asked changing the question slightly. This is how we worked we would meet up one or two days a week and talk for hours, it was actually something I had started to look forward to it.

After talking a little bit more about meeting up we fell into natural conversation about the last couple of days. As we talked I noticed one of the boys exiting the dance room making eye contact with me within seconds. "Kai I got to go I'll see you Saturday," I said waiting for an answer before ending the call.

"What are you doing," Jihoon said shaking his head.

"Making money," I said with a small shrug.

"What about Ong I swore you two actually had something," he said.

I shook my head having no idea how to approach this topic, it wasn't like I could tell him that Kai and I weren't actually dating. "I did too, guess it just wasn't meant to be," I said with a simple shrug.

"Your lying" he simply said.

"It needs to know, you don't need to know," I said shrugging my shoulders but knowing he wasn't going to drop it.
