Chapter Nineteen: The News is Out
When I agreed to be in a relationship with Kai I wasn't fully aware of what exactly I was agreeing to. Sure I knew that people would be interested but I wasn't expecting what actually came from the news coming out. Kai and I were being asked for interviews and even asked to come on a couple of shows. It seemed when I thought I had hit peak popularity something else came along proving me wrong.
A week after we had announced that Kai was in a relationship I stood backstage with the boy in question about to head out for a radio show. Apparently, now that this was out people wanted to know more about us.
Thankfully the company was prepared for this and had given the two of us time to work through our back story. That part wasn't too hard as we stuck with the way we actually met as we wanted to avoid as many lies as possible.
"Alright, you two, good luck and have fun," Kai's manager said giving us one last smile before throwing us to the lions.
Kai and I sat next to each other placing the headsets on making small talk with the interviewer. "No here," Kai said moving over to fix my headset for me.
"You two are adorable," our interviewer said as he watched Kai mess around with my headset as I didn't know what I was doing. Neither of us responded none of us really knowing what to say to that.
Soon enough we were actually on the air speaking with our interviewer about what exactly Kai and I were. "So the main question that is on everybody's mind is when exactly did you two meet, with both your schedule it must have been hard," he asked.
"We actually met when I was still a trainee for SM before I went on Produce 101 for the first time," I said with a smile.
"The two of us were one of the few trained in dance so we got along quite well," Kai said. "But then I joined EXO and we didn't see each other that often after that" he continued staring at me.
"It wasn't until I started my choreography career in the kpop community that we met again," I said this time. "Something just clicked and before I knew it we were talking to the president of the company," I said.
The interview talked for a couple moments about the way we met before he asked a question that I wasn't exactly expecting. "Hana what do you say to those people who claim that you and Ong Seong Wu weren't actually acting on We Got Married but were, in fact, dating," he asked me.
My eyes widened not really believing what he was saying "Ong and I were practically dating but it was for the TV there was nothing between us" I said.
"He claims that there was something going on through," the interviewer said handing me a magazine. "See right there he felt something going on" he continued as I stared down at the article in front of me.
Glancing at Kai's manager who stood on the other side of the glass he shrugged clearly not understanding what was going on. "He never told me," I said shaking my head and handed the article back to the interviewer without reading it. I was stuck with Kai for three months at least so I couldn't risk anybody thinking I had feelings for Ong. "If he had confessed I might feel different but Kai stole my heart," I said reached over to hold his hand. I was happy to receive a smile from Kai as he squeezed my hand a bit.
"Kai this question is for you how did the guys react to you and Hana," the interview said thankfully switching the subject.
"They weren't that happy because I'm one of the youngest they were a little jealous that I found someone before they did," Kai said causing the three of us to laugh at his joke. "But they're very supportive plus she helps them learn our dances so I don't think they can not like her," he said causing us to laugh once again.
