Chapter 9

Emilia's POV

We all go downstairs to find the boys in an intimate game of twister. "Get your asses up, we're going ice skating" I tell them. They all jump up and get ready to leave. A new rink just opened in town and we've been discussing about going for a while. We have nothing better to do and as the boys don't need to be in the studio to record anything today, so I thought I'd take everyone out.

We get to the rink and it's deserted. My plan is working. "I don't think it's open Em" Dani says, confused. "It is, just follow me." I tell the boys. I take them to the entrance, and call Lizzie on my phone. "Hey Lizzie, we're at the entrance.... Yeah cool, I'll tell them" All the boys look at me weirdly. "Who's Lizzie?" Jonah asks me, confused. I smile as the doors are opened. I smile and hug Lizzie, the owner of the ice rink. "Hey girlll!" She says whilst hugging me tightly. I hug her back, then smile. "Thanks for letting us use the rink today" I say to her. The boys just stare at me, wide eyed. I laugh "Sorry for not telling y'all" Lizzie smiles, then leads us through and grabs us some skates. I already have my own and so does Jack. I whisper in Lizzie's ear to give Dani the pink skates. She laughs and hands him the skates. Dani looks at me and frowns, but still puts the skates on. When the boys notice, they smile and Corbyn puts a pic of him on the band's insta account.

I take Jack's hand and lead him onto the ice. We smile at each other and skate round the rink at top speeds. I can see Dani and Jonah staring at me from the side of the rink, their jaws dropped. Zach is getting onto the ice and skating round slower than me and Jack but is still pretty good. "Come on Dani!" I yell, wanting to see how bad Dani is at skating. He climbs onto the ice and latches his hand onto the side of the rink. He moves slowly, but soon lets go of the edge. Jonah is surprisingly good at skating, like me and Jack. I look at Jack, who is halfway across the rink. He looks back at me and holds his arms out "You might want to film this." I tell Jonah. He gets his phone out and starts to video. I skate across to Jack and he picks me up and spins me round. We're smiling at each other as he spins me. I can feel the boys watching us in awe. When Jack puts me down, the boys start clapping "When did you learn to do that?" Corbyn asks us, smiling. Me and Jack shrug our shoulders and smile.

Corbyn looks nervous as he approaches the ice. I skate over to him and hold onto his hand, pulling him along with me. He soon gets the hang of it and lets go. I skate back over to Jack, then watch Corbyn fall over. Jack quickly skates over to him and helps him up. "Are you okay, Bean?" I ask him, concerned. He nods and starts skating around again, smiling. When I was younger, I took figure skating lessons, so that makes me able to show off. I do jumps and spins around the rink. When I skate over to Jack, he throws me up in the air and catches me. I smile and kiss him, then skate round holding his hand.

Soon enough, we must get off the ice. I thank Lizzie as we leave. We go to chipotle for lunch, then Jonah drives us back home. When we get back, I go and change into a swimsuit and sit in the hot tub with a book. After about 10 minutes, Jack comes out and joins me. "Hey Noodle" I say to him, smiling. He smiles, then moves over and puts his arm around me "Hey Em" he replies and kisses me on the forehead. I put my book down and snuggle into Jack. I can hear the boys inside singing and messing around. I must have fallen asleep, as I find myself in mine and Jack's bed. I go downstairs to find the boys eating kfc without me. They look at me, then at each other "You can come and join us if you want Em" Dani says. I walk over and sit next to Jack, who wraps his arm around me. They keep looking at me weirdly and smiling. "What's gotten into you guys?" I ask them, slightly nervous. They look at each other and shrug. "Nothing, we promise" Corbyn tells me, but sounds unsure. I feel like they're leaving me out of a secret, but I'm pretending not to be hurt by it. I eat a piece of chicken, then sit on the couch and watch Netflix. I lay there for hours, until the boys appear and sit down close to me. I rest my head on Jack's chest and continue watching the movie. Jack falls asleep after a while, in the middle of the film. The boys decide to draw a moustache on his face with a pen. When they go to draw glasses, I slap their hands away. I pick Jack up and take him up to our room. "You're strong." Dani tells me, surprised. I go and pick him up, then throw him into the pool. The boys start laughing. "Yeah, I guess you could say that." I say, walking back into the house. I go upstairs, wipe the pen off Jack's face, then shower. I throw on a pair of shorts and a t shirt, then go to sleep next to Jack.

Jack's POV

I wake up in the middle of the night to Emilia screaming. Dani is the first of the boys to reach the room "What's happening?" He asks me, shaking Em to try and wake her up. I shake my head and frown "I don't know, I just woke up to her screaming" I tell him. Zach and Corbyn are freaking out in the corner of the room, whilst me, Daniel, and Jonah are trying to wake Emilia up. I go into our bathroom and get a glass of water. I throw it in Em's face, hoping it will wake her up. I know that it seems cruel, but it does the job. She sits bolt upright and starts crying. "What's the matter?" Dani asks, becoming the protective brother. "Jack's dead" He says, crying louder. I step forward and hug her "I'm here princess" I tell her. Zach goes and grabs a towel, then wipes the water off her face. She looks relieved, then pulls me into a bear hug. I smile, then the boys leave the room. I kiss Em on the top of her head "It's okay" I say, as I wipe her tears away "You're safe here" She smiles, then falls back asleep.

I wake up to an empty bed, so I scan the room to find Em but she's not there. I run down the stairs, but she's not there. I check the whole house but can't find her "Who're you looking for?" Dani asks me, confused. "Your sister Dani, I can't find her anywhere." I tell him, frightened. He stares at me and looks like he's going to pass out. "Shit shit shit shit shitttt" He yells. Jonah, Zach and Corbyn come rushing into the room. "What is happening?" Jonah asks us, as he reaches me and Daniel. "Em's gone missing" I tell him, whilst sitting Dani down and getting him a glass of water. Corbyn tries to ring her, but she isn't picking up. I rush back upstairs and throw some sweatpants and a shirt on, then Jonah drives into town to look for her. I look everywhere I think she may be, but I can't find her.

I remember her mentioning a park in a conversation a while back. I put the directions into Jonah's phone and we drive there. When we arrive, I see a figure with auburn hair sitting on the swing. I walk over to her and smile. "Hey fire" I say to her, sitting on the swing next to her. She looks at me, then giggles. "How'd you find me?" She asks me. I smile and shake my head "I know you all too well, Em" I tell her. She smiles at me, then looks away. "I'm sorry for leaving you" She says, then frowns at the floor. "We were all so worried Em. Please don't leave us again." I tell her. She looks like she's on the brink of tears spilling from her eyes. I walk over to her and kiss her on the forehead "Sorry." She mumbles. "It's okay Em." I say, as I pick her up and take her to the car. Jonah opens the door and drives us home. Her skin is stone cold, and her lips have been tinted blue. "We need to get her home" I tell Jo, aghast. He drives quicker, to rush Em home.

We get back, and Dani rushes out. "Thank goodness you're alive!" He says pulling Em into a hug. "We need to get her inside" I tell him, perturbed. I see the panic in his eyes when he fells her skin. Dani picks her up and sits her down by the fire. I wrap a blanket around her and get her a mug of hot cocoa.
